Sanctuary in The Pocket

My husband and I spent a very relaxing 3nights at The Retreat and it was amazing. Mike and Lisa treated us like long lost friends and were very welcoming and recommended some nice eateries and places to visit. The biggest problem was that we were so comfortable in our little hideaway, we didn’t want to go anywhere. Would highly recommend if you are wanting some time out from the rat race and want to relax.

If you are looking for a beautiful private gateway, you must put Sanctuary In the Pocket as a must stay. The owners are truly lovely and welcoming in every way. The amenities are top notch and add fresh farm eggs and honey for you to enjoy for breakfast.

The location is perfect for site seeing Byron Bay and other little quaint sites.
We loved our stay and would go back in a heartbeat.

What a wonderful surprise Sanctuary in th Pocket is! From the well-appointed villas to the friendly hosts, we couldn't have asked for more. Wow, what an amazing space! If you are looking to get away from it all to relax and reconnect this is the space! It was like being in Thailand, everything was 5 star luxury and the service was impressive. The only downside was we didn’t stay long enough, we will be back to stay! Thanks Mike and Lisa for your hospitality and sharing one the best spaces we have been too.

Sanctuary in the pocket is a beautiful, hidden property, with lush green surrounds. Mike was the most gracious host, who treated us like family, even bringing us dessert on our first night!
We got a full tour of the property, honey from the bees, eggs from the chickens, a true farm experience.
The retreat house was comfortable and clean, with everything we needed.

We enjoyed an amazing stay at Sanctuary in the Pocket for our anniversary. The Bliss Cottage is beautifully decorated and feels like a hidden paradise of your very own. The hosts Mike and Lisa went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible and took the time to explain some of the features of the property and surrounding grounds. The cottage is very well appointed with everything you could need for a comfortable holiday. We felt very welcome and look forward to returning again for another stay.

My husband and I stayed in the guest cottage last week and were blown away by the gorgeousness of the accommodation and surrounds. Sanctuary in the Pocket is just lovely, with lots of trees, birds, quiet spaces, a bubbling brook - plenty of places to relax and enjoy nature. The hosts, Lisa and Mike, are super friendly, what I would call 'super hosts'. They ensured we had everything we needed for our luxury escape, and made us feel very welcome. I highly recommend Sanctuary in the Pocket.

The property, the accommodation, and the owners where next to none. Most beautiful place that is a must see for ANY one who loves to relax in the most beautiful surroundings you can imagine. Mike and Lisa where the most helpful and genuinely caring people you could ever meet, nothing was too hard, they went above and beyond to make our stay as pleasurable as possible. The cottage is spacious and very well appointed, comfortable and good quality bed. We will see Lisa and Mike again with pleasure !

An amazing space with amazing host! We invited a few friends to come and experience this lush and luxurious resort for 3 nights and it didn't disappoint! Everyone had a fantastic time, exploring the gardens, swimming in the pools and spa, we even had an impromptu pizza party with the full sized wood pizza oven. The visit to town was great fun filled with unique bric-a-brac, fashion and cafe's and restaurant's.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay in The Retreat.
We wanted a peaceful, private place to unwind for a few days and this was perfect.
Jonathan and Susie were great hosts. They were nearby if we needed, but otherwise you wouldn't even know they were on the property.
Loved the furnishings and little touches, but the standout is the private pool and Bali style day bed - just an amazing space to relax both day and night (with remote controlled lighting).
Gardens were lovely too.
Will definitely stay again.

I stayed at the cottage retreat with friends and family for 5 days and it was absolutely beautiful and exactly how I expected it to be online. The owner Lisa was so wonderful and treated us as such great guests. She bought us fresh eggs from her farm and brought us tea during our stay. I also had many friends and family ask about the place on social media as they would love to stay it in themselves. Thus, would 100% come back to stay at the pocket.

Our stay in the bliss cottage was lovely. It definitely exceeded our expectations from the amazing surroundings, so peaceful and beautiful to the little (and big) luxurious touches. Our two young children (5 & 3) had a ball exploring the grounds and enjoyed the private pool every chance they had. The beds were so comfortable and we felt so welcomed by Suz and Jonathan. It was very private and secluded. We took a trip up to Movie World for a day, just an hours drive and most other days explored Brunswick Heads and Byron. We left feeling very relaxed and already planning our next trip back.

A magical way to welcome in a milestone birthday. Cheese, wine, spas, teppanyaki, comfy beds, and gardens you thought were only overseas. Highly recommend this place to just be in the moment with all it has to offer.
Lisa and Mike were so welcoming and truly wanted your stay to be perfect from arrival to departure.
Next visit will be just because life is too short not to spoil yourself.

We had a wonderful stay at Sanctuary in the Pocket and Lisa and Mike were absolute super hosts! They were so accommodating and ensured that we had everything that we needed to make our stay memorable. The gardens on the property are so beautifully manicured and well kept, it's like being in a lush tropical rainforest. Our villa was completely private, despite having other villas situated close by and the villa has all the amenities you need, including Apple TV, Netflix and Wi-fi to make it a very comfortable stay.
We definitely recommend this hidden little treasure to anyone that wants to getaway from the hustle and bustle, and relax in your own little private retreat.
