Briars Restaurant

I was about to take a star off because they don't let you take away the dessert. We're very happy with the dinner, but also satisfied, and we wanted to try the dessert, so we would like to take the dessert back with us and they informed this is not allowed. 😓

That's a shame.

Everything else was great.
The Rib Eye was to my liking and a medium rare is medium rare. The Specials that day included a Beef Cheek with Mash that was delightful, and we shared a Creamy Garlic Prawns starter but as side dish. They should gang both the Rib Eye with the Prawns and make a Creamy Surf'N'Turf.

Definitely a great option when down the coast and right next to the road, any direction you'd be heading to.

Closest to fine dining you can find near Bateman’s Bay. The food was very good and the prices are reasonable compared to same quality of food in Canberra.

The place was nice and quiet, great for a conversation.

The only issue was my steak. I asked for medium-rare, but it came out medium-well.

Dined here for a large party, good variety in menu, all cooked to perfection with friendly service.

We stayed here about 7yrs ago...enjoyed it so much....don't know why it took us so long to get back.

After a full day of activity, made a booking at Briars for dinner. The staff were attentive and demonstrated knowledge of menu and relevant ingredients. Menu is compact but covers a good selection - food quality was spot on. Shared a number of small plates which were flavourful, desserts were delightful. Happy to recommend a visit to Briars. Thank you to the staff, both front and back, thoroughly enjoyed my visit.

What a lovely evening we had, the setting was inspiring.. The service was great with just enough attention... and the food was sensational can't praise the chef enough.. not a crumb left..

I ordered the grass fed steak. It was medium very tender and the best steak in town. The service was very good.

Excellent eye fillet medallions main, the calamari starter was great too
