Every visit to this gorgeous cafe is fantastic! The food always looks incredible as it arrives at your table and it tastes delicious! The menu is so diverse that everyone will find exactly what they want. The view is breathtaking and you will see dolphins every time and whales during their migration. The staff work exceptionally hard and are so friendly. They make you feel special each and every visit - even if you are just sitting sipping a coffee and staring out at the magical blue ocean 🌊

Shelly Beach Cafe provided the most breathtaking backdrop for our wedding day, and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect venue! Kaz and her team went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our special day was executed flawlessly. From the initial planning stages to the final moments of the event, their attention to detail was impeccable.

The location of Shelly Beach Cafe is simply stunning, offering panoramic views of the beach stretching down to Lighthouse Beach and the North Wall. The picturesque scenery, coupled with the beautiful sunset, created a magical atmosphere that made our wedding day truly unforgettable.

The venue itself exudes charm and character, with a warm and inviting ambiance that perfectly complemented the coastal surroundings. Kaz and her team worked tirelessly to ensure that everything ran smoothly, from the setup of the ceremony space to the coordination of the reception.

Probably one of the most amazing views for a cafe one could ever wish for. Full frontal rolling surf views as you enjoy something as simple as coffee & a muffin or a substantial lunch or dinner. The staff are wonderful & the views come free

Enjoyed a nice breakfast here a few weeks ago. Perfect location overlooking the beach. Food and coffee was great. Fairly busy but still managed to get a nice spot at the window. There was a quite a few people waiting by the time we left so would recommend making a prior reservation.

Often venues with a great location drop the ball on quality of meals and service. Not here; accommodated me prior to kitchen close and lucky me scored the best seat in the venue. Staff were fast and friendly, chefs put on an amazing show of a very tasty lunch and the atmosphere was sensational for a sunny hot day. Can't wait to go back!

One of the best cafe’s on the east coast. If you’re in the area don’t hesitate to try this place out. Who doesn’t want to have breakfast or lunch with direct beach views?

The restaurant was very busy as a restaurant of this quality should be on a Sunday. Service was very good food reasonably priced in today’s market at the service.

I could not speak higher of the staff or the food!
I was one of those annoying people and unknowingly showed up with 2 minutes of breakfast service time left before their hour change over to lunch service. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating, we were able to be seated and order breakfast.
The Moroccan Smashed Avo is AMAZING! One of the best breafasts I have had since before I can remember!
My partner had the Whale of a breakfast which he said was fantastic!

Despite being late, the meals were still presented really well and tasted even better!

Shelly's Beach Cafe is a special spot in Ballina. The view, rain or shine, is breath taking. The food is delicious with a special flare and the services is great and efficient. The team is very nice and a joy to be around.

Wow! What a great place to eat. I have an anaphylactic allergy to nuts so sometimes I can get a bit anxious about eating out. Not the case today - staff were lovely, reassuring and catered to my every need without a big fuss. Oh, and the food? Delicious!! Totally worth your buck with a beautiful view. If this doesn’t convince you to eat here then I don’t know what will. Cheers!

What a fabulous find! The Moroccan Sunset menu was amazing. They even changed some of the dishes to vegetarian to suit our dietary preferences. Shared a number of meals which were delicious and full of flavour. Service was outstanding and staff were excellent. Definitely come back here on our next visit.

I had the pleasure of dining at Shelly Beach Cafe in Ballina recently, and it was nothing short of a gastronomic delight. The cafe's location is stunning, with panoramic views of the ocean that provide a serene backdrop to the dining experience. But it's the food that truly steals the show.

We started our meal with the Moroccan smashed avocado and haloumi. The avocado was perfectly ripe and creamy, and the Moroccan spices added a unique twist that was both unexpected and delightful. The haloumi was grilled to perfection, with a beautiful golden crust and a soft, salty interior that complemented the avocado wonderfully. It was a refreshing and satisfying start to our meal.

Next, we tried the chilli prawn linguine. The prawns were succulent and fresh, and the linguine was cooked to al dente perfection. The chilli added a kick that was just right - enough to wake up your taste buds, but not so much that it overpowered the other flavours. The dish was a harmonious blend of heat, sweetness from the prawns, and the comforting familiarity of well-cooked pasta.

Finally, we had the falafel. Crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside, these were some of the best falafels I've ever tasted. They were served with a tangy tahini sauce that added a wonderful depth of flavour.

The service at Shelly Beach Cafe was also commendable. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Gorgeous views, particularly from the high tables overlooking the beach. Great for whale watching. We had the homemade falafel and Karachi chicken croissant, paired with the pinot gris and Jericho Shiraz. It's a little bit pricey, but the location is worth it. Highly recommend!

gotta love Shelly beach cafe - come here often for breakfast or lunch with small or large groups - always friendly with good food and coffee - I also get takeaway coffee from here when out beach walking great takeout service. Love the views here too.

My partner and I had lunch here on a weekday during school hols…very busy staff friendly food was fresh and nice…very short menu…can’t beat the venue…good parking available… would definitely recommend and visit again

We have dined at this restaurant on several occasions now having recently moved into the area. The atmosphere is second to none and the meals always delicious and the staff always extremely pleasant to deal with. When you throw in the seasonal migration of the passing whales and the frequent theatrics of the dolphins...just wow!!
