Mahsuri Thai

We arrived after the evening rush on a Saturday non-school holiday night. The restaurant was very busy but several tables opened and we were seated within a few minutes.

The atmosphere was largely provided by the clamour of numerous patrons enjoying their night. I didn't notice any particularly elaborate settings or decorations that otherwise added to the ambience.

Our water order was taken immediately and drink order taken reasonably quickly especially given the restaurant was so busy. We ordered our meals as we ordered the drinks because orders were being placed at a large table nearby and thought we'd try get in front of their order.

The wine selection was good and there were numerous cocktails available including a selection of daily specials for both.

My Chicken Satay Skewers were fine, the chicken tender well spiced though I prefer a chunkier less blended satay sauce with more flavour. They came with an additional rice wine vinegar sauce (?) that was better than the satay.

The Duck Red Curry was excellent. The flavour balance was as good as I've had for many years with a generous portion of roasted duck and (thankfully) vegetables.

The Prik Kingh stir fry with Tofu and Vegetables (gluten free) was a generous well flavoured serving.

We didn't see anyone complaining during our time at the restaurant and though staffing was tight thought it was fine for a suburban restaurant on a busy Saturday night.

Although there weren't any of the modern interpretations of Thai cooking were seeing increasingly at Brisbane restaurants like Ping Pong and Same Same it was still a great meal and we'd go back, especially for the excellent Duck Curry.

Our favourite restaurant in this area. Food is delicious, service is friendly and prompt and prices are moderate. Consistently good over the years we have been going. We look forward to several visits whenever we holiday there.

Fun place and authentically delicious cuisine. The portions are large so we ordered too much! Next time, the two of us will share a main course. And there will be one .. or two!

Food was amazing. We had the massaman beef curry; chicken satay skewers; and oyster sauce chicken stir fry…OMG. So fresh and delicious. Was told chef is coeliac so understands catering gluten free options safe for coeliacs. Lots of options gluten and dairy free. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend this place.

Delicious food and really good serving sizes. Plenty of choices for coeliac and staff understood all about it. We also had a yummy cocktail.

Warm and welcoming waitresses. Food flavours on point! Black rice coconut flavour and mango sorbet was the highlight!!

Lovely service on a busy night. Delicious food- really enjoyed our take away. Staff were really helpful to resolve any concerns. Would recommend and will be back.

We have enjoyed the excellent food, cocktails and service of Mahsuri for many years. We recently had the good fortune to share our love of this restaurant with interstate family and were very pleased to share their total enjoyment of their Mahsuri experience as well. Our favourite place to eat out.

We had the most beautiful dinner and wine. Food was delicious.

Friendly & efficient service. We went on a busy Saturday night and we received our food and drinks in a timely manner. They clearly pick the right staff to employ. They were knowledgeable and welcoming.

The food is top notch too. Serving sizes are more than generous. We have to take home a couple of takeaway containers. The Tuk Tuk Beef Curry was one of the specials, if you see it then get on it.

We'd go back the next time we're down Kingscliff way.

Best Thai food in the area, love the curry puffs, yellow chicken curry and fried rice.

I've been coming to Mahsuri for years since I live and the area and it never disappoints.
Good food, good drinks and good vibes in a beautiful location!
My favourite is the chicken larb, but I've been also trying their off the menu specials from time to time and they've all been delicious.
The thai fried rice is such a generous portion as well!
Will definitely keep returning :)

New menu change is incredible!!!! We had the bao buns, Street style mixed entree plate & the chefs special: tuk tuk beef coconut stew with roti and jasmine rice. Everything was incredible! The food was always great before but Mahsuri have definitely upped their game!! Best Thai restaurant we’ve been to for sure.
