Bonnie Doon Hotel / Motel

We loved our stay . We had a room backing onto the lake - it felt very special. Room itself is basic but clean and has all you need . extremely well stocked for breakfast . Bathroom could do with a fan. The food at the pub was awsome . So was outdoor sitting - just so serene and so close to the lake

We didn’t get to stay in the hotel but the food at the Bistro was some good grub! And the service was awesome! Especially on a busy Easter Sunday, it was still speedy! Very happy with our experience

The Bonnie Doon Hotel is an authentic Australian pub. In the winter, it has roaring wood fires and in the summer, you sit in the beer garden and wander down to the lake. Keen boaters park their boats and walk 50 meters to the pub. Food wise, it is just good pub food with a couple of fancy dishes. Service is goodband food comes out quickly. Beer is cold and reasonably priced.

Was super busy when we got there at lunch time, but managed to get outdoor seating for us and our large dog. Staff super friendly and probably one of the best caeser salads i've ever had (and the chicken was super tasty and tender)

Only recommendation would be if the pub could put like a floating dock in (like most of the harbours in the area) to make parking boats a little easier. Space on the bank isn't super plentiful and when houseboats rock up and take a lot of space, it can be difficult for everyone to get a park

The menu has a big variety to choose from even for vegetarian options.

The vegetarian Musaka was super delicious.

Service was excellent and the atmosphere of the place was very nice and friendly

It was the Easter weekend; we managed to get a last-minute booking at a reasonable rate.
THE FOOD
Although they seemed to be getting smashed in the kitchen, the meals didn't take long. Kids' meals were a little small, and the parma was a bit dry. However, the steak was delicious!
THE ACCOMMODATION
The room was clean and came supplied with tea/coffee/milo/milk, etc, as well as some little biscuits/cereal/vegemite/honey, etc, which was nice. Plenty of towels, extra blankets, and a clean pool to use (the pool could do with some solar as by golly that water was cold!)
VERDICT
From a first-time visitor not only to the hotel but also to Bonnie Doon, I loved it and definitely plan to go back!

Beautiful pub in a lovely location. Very nice parma & all three desserts were schmick!!
And just as importantl was the exceptionally diligent, well mannered, friendly young blokes running the food tonight 💯 Their parents should be proud of their boys. They even treated our lab like she was their own 🤗
The cashiers were also friendly & welcoming.

Just had a well deserved pub feed after a snowboarding weekend and it was so damn good! Service was above and beyond, the place had a fire and great atmosphere with a beautiful court yard and views of the water. Food was delicious and totally ticked the box - we were famished and food was ample, fingerlickin good AND affordable. Hallelujah. Again legends for staff - Edison helped us out & went above and beyond that guy deserved 800 starts thank you Edison. Will be back!

This place was already regarded with high praise by me, but the icing on the top, is the fact my life was saved by Sam after some drunkard hit me on the head with a jetski. Definitely recommend this place for a drink or even to have your life saved 👌🏽

Food was sensational, the burger patty was hands down the best burger I have ever had. Arancini and buffalo bites were awesome and the chicken parma was great too. Would highly recommend and will visit again. Serenity 11/10.

Amazing!! Fantastic food, staff & atmosphere. The views from the Beer Garden were so picturesque. Absolutely recommend this Pub.

After alpine mountain visit, we will always stop by Bonnie Doon restaurant/pub. (We didn't stay at the hotel/motel)

They have a really nice country pub atmosphere, fireplace, etc. They also have outdoor dining area for warmer months.

The food is excellent and service is nice and friendly. Potato soup with Garlic Bread is one of their best dishes, especially in winter months.

If you are coming back from snow mountains like Mt Buller, this is a really nice stop-over before heading towards Melbourne.
