Petersons Wines

We booked a tasting for 6 people and were treated very warmly upon our arrival. After a short chat we were escorted to the cellar for the tasting. Our host Lisa was an absolute cracker of a lady to tell us about the wines etc. Our booking turned into another 3 hour love affair with Petersons again. Love you guys.

Me and my wife celebrated our wedding anniversary over the weekend. It was our first time doing a wine tasting in hunter valley, and Peterson's Wines set that bar high. The staff was very welcoming, informative and even answered all our novice wine questions. Beautiful quality wines (we bought 5 bottles). Doug was our guide and he went above and beyond to make us enjoy our wine tasting. This was definetly the highlight of our anniversary, one that we will never forget. Thank you guys! If you like wines or just don't know where to start booking a wine tasting in the hunter valley, this is the place to be.

We did the wine tasting with John. This was the best experience in wine tasting we’ve had in Australia so far. John is very enthousiast and compassionate about his wines and made us try a few combinations to see what it would do to the taste.

The finest winery we went to on our trip. We loved the woman pouring and chatting with us and all the wines were fantastic. Recommend the Sparkling Shiraz and really any of the shirazes. I’d say this is a can’t miss.

Peterson on mount view was a fantastic tasting experience. Firstly, they managed to fit us in without a booking and offered a super broad tasting with some of the best reds I have tasted out of the hunter. Secondly, the staff were knowledgeable and really fun. Lisa, the absolute legend, gave us some incredible wines to taste and was hilarious. Overall one of the best tasting experiences I have had in the hunter.

Our recent visit to Petersons Wine in the Hunter Valley was truly unforgettable, thanks to our phenomenal host, Doug. From the moment we arrived, Doug welcomed us with open arms, exuding warmth and friendliness that instantly made us feel at home. His approach to hosting our wine tasting was both engaging and educational, demonstrating an impressive depth of knowledge about each wine we sampled.

Petersons Wine is always the highlight of our trip in the Hunter Valley every single visit! Best red wine in the region.

The best winery in hunter. The lady that served us took her time time to understand the types of wines we liked and matched this to the wine tasting and added extra wines to taste along the way. The lady was very knowledgeable. An amazing and relaxing experience. All the wines from white to red were spectacular. Thank you so much for looking after us.

Initially was a little put off but having to book and prepay for the tasting online before comming but we were Very glad we did!

Staff were great very friendly, and knowledgeable. Tasting was great we left it to our hosts to pick out the wines for tastings and after talking to us she was able to select some really tasty wines.

Looking forward to comming back for another tasting in the future.

Absolutely my favourite winery that my friends and I visited. We we're greeted by Jess and instantly felt at home with her fun and joking energy. I learnt so much from her about the history of wine and the best ways to pair it with food. Also really loved the "easy Tuesday Shiraz" as Jess called it. Would definitely recommend coming here, their whites were also really good (and I'm more of a red person). The indoor area was also very cosy with lots of character!

Always leave with a smile and bottles of arguably the best wine available from the Hunter.

John and Cherine's warm hospitality, extensive knowledge, and genuine love of Petersons makes for a memorable experience. This is one of the standout wineries of the Hunter Valley, not just for the quality of the wine, but for the authenticity, sincerity, and character of the people and place. We love Petersons Mount View!

Our favorite winery and cellar door. We always take our visitors here. The Mount View venue is out of the hustle and bustle of Pokolbin and has fabulous views. The wine is always good and the staff knowable and entertaining. Thank you once again.

John the Pom looked after us magnificently as usual. Just feels like being back with family each time we bring friends to a wine-tasting at Petersons.

We dropped into Petersons wines in October 2020 on our way home from the Hunter. We didn't have an appointment and we're willing to leave if they couldn't accommodate us, but they we're very accommodating and quickly decided we could stay and taste wines inside which was empty at the time. And then as luck would have it the person who started our tasting had to duck out and John the Pom came in and took his place. We didn't know it at the time but we were in for a treat, he is one of the most engaging and genuinely funny people you will ever have serve you wines! He quickly picked up on our preferences and before we knew it we had sampled over a dozen wines and we're blown away by how good some of them were, and the personal anecdotes and stories from John continued unabated. It was hands down our best wine tasting ever. We never once felt awkward or just another customer but we really did leave feeling like part of the family, and we took home a large selection of bottles.

We also joined their wine club and i can honestly say after nearly a year of membership we look forward to each delivery of wines and they're always the first run out in our wine fridge.

Cannot go past this OG vineyard; great wines and authentic, unpretentious tastings that have not changed in the 20+ years we have been visiting the Hunter. Petersons and the Mount View area are a must if in the Hunter.

Great wine flight and tasting! Easily one of the best wineries in the Hunter Valley. Beautiful reds and brilliant whites. Host was knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Will visit again on next trip to Hunter Valley.

Petersons is a stunning location! We were served by Josie who was so welcoming and entertaining! Really lovely wines and a must visit in Hunter Valley! :)

Top winery in the Hunter, amazing fruit and excellent wine-making. The view from Mt View is beautiful. Go for the chardonnays and shiraz, stay for the banter! Great wines (all of them!!) and even better people.

Petersons has to be the no 1 Winery in the Hunter Valley. Their wines are always to notch. A members tasting is a must on every visit. I also enjoy the Mudgee Winery. Thoroughly recommend.
