Awesome spot. Plenty of room. New drop toilet is been built there, plus it has a water tank with untreated water.

Great campground with lots of space. Feels private even with other hikers around.
There's no pit toilets or water tank (destroyed in the fires) but we found a stream about 100m away on the track towards the lake, close to Old Riggalls hut campsite. Just be sure to sterilise the water before drinking.

Just reviewing to let people know the pit toilets are no longer at this camp-site. It's a huge camping area with maybe a dozen fireplaces and plenty of wood. Water sources are sketchy, we found a small stream but we went during a very wet season, and we had to filter and boil it after noticing some creepy crawlies on the surface.
