Royal Hotel Balaklava

Had dinner here Wednesday night (13/3/24) after footy training.

The service was excellent and friendly, exactly what I would expect from a country pub.

The Beer was cold and crisp and was fairly priced.

I had a Chicken Schnitzel Parmy with Dianne sauce on the side. Both were delicious and it was one of the best Parmy's I've had.

Keep up the good work and thankyou for having us. I'll definitely be back.

New owner but not much has changed yet. It could really do with a paint touch up to make it look a bit more inviting.
Meals are ok, still reasonably basic pub style and plentiful.
Service is good.
My only negative is the number of flies in the dining area.

Hello I just would like to say this is a lovely place and the staff are so nice I recommend it for anyone who loves food or drink or even a good chat but I got the cheeseburger and chips tonight and it was lovely thanks guys so much

Stopped in for dinner here and had the porterhouse special. The mushroom sauce was amazing, steak was flavourful, and the beer was COLD. Absolutely stunning meal here!

Food is sublime. Although the place isn't designed for Coeliac/Celiacs, they take great care in their preparation and your dietary requirements. Looks like your typical pub out the front, but the food stands on its own. It also has a lovely outdoor seating area out back. There are two doors though - facing the hotel, the right side is the bar and the left side is the dining area.

We were treated to a wonderful lunch, all the meals were tasty, well presented and enjoyed by all.
There were 25 of us.
The staff were under the pump but handled the situation very well.
We had small children in the party who found the beer garden which was perfect for them to run and yell!!

Dropped by this place on the way back to Adelaide after a recommendation from someone from Baklava.
Food is great, definitely not the best I’ve ever had but service was warm and friendly. We dropped by just about lunch time and place wasn’t too packed and we managed to get a table. Place feels really cosy especially the vibe given from other patrons.

Service: 10/10

Would recommend visiting if ever in the area or looking for something new to try.

Little gem. We had the warm chicken salad and it was really good. The beer garden is the spot to eat if the weather isn't feral.

This is a great pub. Meals are great, but what impressed me most was that they care about their patrons. A big shout out for Steph, who does an amazing job .

Update went again tonight food and service excellent.
Absolutely fantastic meal friendly service although very busy still didn't have to wait for our meals they ate famil friendly would recommend

We’ve had lunch at the Royal hotel on three occasions after our rounds of golf at the Balaklava golf club. Great country pub in the centre of town. Food was good as was the service.

Food was cooked well and tasted great! Waitress and cooks were great.
Think ol mate behind the bar was having an off day!

Great food, well worth having lunch. Prices are as good as the food. Try for yourself. I was about to go home. But I was hot and in need of food. The hotel was cool and clean. Contented I left. And I will be back for sure.

We love having dinner here staff are always friendly. Pete very helpful during iso. Cheesecake is great especially lemon wattle seed one

Great friendly staff and owners. Came across this hotel by luck during the Ashes being hosted in Adelaide. Glad I did find a place to stay.
Nice peaceful surroundings, the best sleep I have had in years. My room was a little cosy but it was all I needed. They were also very clean, and the bed was way better/comfortable than the one I normally sleep in at home.
The meals were great and plenty on the plate. I sat at the bar and all I could smell was good food.
Felt very welcome here and recommend this Hotel to anyone traveling.
I am pretty sure I will come back in the future. Love the town and this hotel.

Lovely old county pub, tastefully redecorated.
Atlantic salmon was cooked to perfection,also the garfish.
Friendly staff, excellent prices.
