Food is beautiful. Staff are very friendly. Love sitting at the bar and watching the chefs make sushi. Perfect for date night.

Defiantly one of the best dining experiences we had in Port Mac. Firstly, please book! We booked and turned up as it opened but there was already a line of people wanting to go in for dinner and lots turned away. The staff were super friendly and attentive. The food came out super fast - we were impressed. We sat at the bar so got to watch everything in action, all fresh! The food was so so tasty! One of the best Japanese I’ve had. We had the edamame, salmon sashimi, volcano roll, bang bang prawns and takoyaki. Definitely recommended going if you’re wanting Japanese for dinner !

Sizes are generous. Our return visit here. Ordered the mixed tempura, which was OK. Batter was crisp but on the oily side. Still good. We ordered the California roll which was huge and sushi deluxe which had a mix of sushi rolls and, another California roll plus a few others. It stopped us in our tracks. Too much and we're not exactly small people.

The green tea was much needed and refreshing. Also had the green tea ice cream. Why not. There's always room for dessert.

We arrived at 6.40pm on Easter Saturday and the place was booked out save for seating alongside the kitchen which was interesting.

Sushi Deluxe was $70, before Public Holiday surcharge. With Miso soup as well bill was $154 for two! We took some Sushi home.

Can't fault the food here. Busy place. Waiters very attentive. We had teriyaki chicken sushi, tempura prawns, sirloin and a crab meat dish. Needless to say, we took a heap home (eyes too big for our bellies) a couple of drinks to go with the meal to finish it off. All food was extremely fresh and served temperature hot which I love. Would happily come back next visit to Port Macquarie.

Great Japanese restaurant in the heart of Port Macquarie. Great tasting freshly prepared food that is very well presented. The service was friendly and quick. We had a group of 15 and were allowed to pay separately - which is rare nowadays. We will definitely come back here when we are in Port Macquarie next time.

Makimoto Japanese Restaurant in Port Macquarie is so good, the sushi is fresh and bursting with flavour. Their hot dishes, especially the tempura, teriyaki, wagyu udon and ramen are equally impressive, leaving your taste buds longing for more.
The service is good - attentive and knowledgeable staff make you feel right.
Makimoto is a culinary gem in Port Macquarie, offering an authentic taste of Japan. I'll definitely be back for more. Highly recommended!

Really fresh sushi and sashimi and such good value. The chef's best sushi and sashimi is such a hit. The scampi and oysters seem like they were caught on the day and the slices of sashimi were very thick. The salmon was nice and fatty and the aburi sushi was to my liking. The Udon had a good bonito flavour to it, and the tempura was very crunchy and not at all oily. Washed down with some nice sake. This place is very Covid safe.

Went back in Jan-21, still stunning had the sashimi deluxe (very thick cuts and all very fresh) and the Udon set. Really busy so make sure you book!

It is our last night in Port Macquarie and wanted to eat very light. We ordered the sushi boat for $89 and it is good for 5 people. It is absolutely gorgeous, it is the best Japanese sushi I tried so far. The grilled Salmon is also the best California roll and for $20, it is value for money. The rolls are big and 3 times the size of an ordinary roll. The flavour of the salmon is satisfying and you should try it. It is value for money and it is a must....

Such amazing food, worth the price. 10/10, definitely would go there again. The restaurant was neat, and the food was well presented. The staff were so polite and kind. The food was sensational, even though they were rather small servings they filled me up well. Recommend this place!!!

I loved this restuarant. They are very kid friendly. The dishes are amazing and well prepared. My favorite would have to be the assorted sashimi! Another good one is the Udon combo. You get the Udon, tempora, and California rolls all for $20! We had such a great time at this place and the atmosphere is so pretty. I really love all the umbrellas!

Hands down best dining experience in Port Macquarie. Lively staff make for an accomadating experience and the cooks know what they are doing. Treat yourself to a true dining experience whilst in Port Macquarie.

So glad we decided to pop in and have dinner at this restaurant while we were passing through. Huuuge delish sushi rolls that were jam packed with fish! We ordered two rolls and the edamame and we were stuffed. If we are ever back in Port Mac, we’ll be sure to visit. Thanks MakiMoto!

Had never been to a Japanese restaurant. Located in the heart of Port Macquarie centre, tried the teriyaki chicken dish. Was amazed by the portion size to the price offered. Food was really delicious. Loved the teriyaki chicken with a glass of chilled Asahi beer. Would definitely try teriyaki salmon the next time I am in Port.

Excellent tasting Japanese food, great selection on menu, lovely atmosphere, friendly service. Great choices on menu for fussy kids, very satisfying.

Me and my girlfriend ordered the soft shell crab and salmon sushimi.

Freshly came out could taste the freshness most important when it comes to japanese food.

The area and inside was nice for a date. Definitely going back.
Recommended.

Sit up at the bar and watch the sushi chef do his thing if you get a chance. Prices may seem excessive but it is completely worth it when you see the size and quality delivered.

Oh so fresh and yummy. I had a grilled salmon roll & spicy sashimi salad.

LOVED IT! Food was great, like brimmin awesome service was so quick. Everything was so fresh. The tempura prawns people, were out of this world. Highly, highly recomended
