Tomakin Beach 24 Hour Dog Off Leash Area

really nice view and clear water. all the dogs were pretty well behaved and didnt have to worry about my dog being around other off leash dogs. there's also a bathroom/quick shower place near the beach carpark

Nice beach to visit, wether for a swim or a stroll along the sand.
Downsides - limited parking and not patrolled by life savers

I love Tomakin Beach. It’s a good size for a decent walk. It’s dog friendly and you can walk along the river bank in low tide.

This is an excellent beach for kids and older people even though it is not patrolled as there is little in the way of surf/waves due to a protective rock shelf. As a result there is lots of clean sandy beach which leads gently into the water on a shallow gradient. You need to wade out a long way before it gets deep. Your dog is allowed on the beach too as long as you pickup after it. There are well maintained public change rooms, toilets and freshwater showers available at the ample parking area which also has a boat ramp into the river estuary next to the beach. Nice cafe on the nearby corner for coffee or a meal. An easy pleasant place to spend time and relax.

Excellent friendly dog beach. You can walk from Boatramp along the river all the way to the beach on the other side. Such a beautiful walk.

I've always loved this beach since my early days as my grandparents live in tomakin so i know this beach well!

The main beach is awesome, huge size connecting to the river, great for waves & boards ect...the rocks are great to explore (smoother type rocks so barefoot friendly) and the calmer little beach is great for the little ones or a snorkle adventure!

Fishing wise, a beach rod and decent cast can land some beauties and the little beach gets large schools of fish often or go for a walk across the rocks.

(There's also a lookout at tomakin to sus the beach conditions)

This is a beautiful beach, especially for dog lovers who can have their dogs off leash 24/7. A very safe beach and great for standup paddle boarders as there is a long slow wave

The Tomakin Beach has split dog zone where as in one section dogs are welcome and can be unleashed and in the other area dogs are prohibited.

The water on the dog unleashing area was shallow and calm. Enjoyable for non confident swimmers and kids.

Parking was bit difficult and has to park on the roads and walked a bit to reach the beach.
