Ascella Organic Wine

We've been members of Ascella's wine club for a while now and know the product is always quality. On our recent visit for the winery's 10th Anniversary we stayed on the property for couple of nights in the cottage. Had such a terrific stay- Geoff and Barb are great hosts, always accomodating ,engaging and really made us feel at home. We were very fortunate to be able to spend some extended time with them tasting some of their older vintage wines, (along with some excellent cheeses, chutneys and chocolates) which were truly sensational. We are already planning our return visit. See you both soon!

We are organic foodies and love great wine paring. In looking for organic wineries in the Hunter, my partner and I were thrilled to find Ascella Pure Wine and pop in to visit. We called to make a booking and were impressed when we spoke to Barb, who arranged a wine and cheese tasting at a time that suited our plans. When we arrived our suspicions were confirmed - Barb and her husband Geoff were amazing hosts, extremely knowledgeable about grapes and wines and the value to everyone that sustainable, organic farming provides us with. 3 years later we are still huge fans of the Ascella wine products and have had a fabulous time staying in the Hunter Riverpines cottage. The views, location and setting of the newly renovated cottage is an oasis in the middle of the vineyard. Next time we will bring some friends with us, as the 2 bedroom cottage sleeps 8 very comfortably.

Ascella is our go-to wine for home and entertaining. Matching our food and wines when we are entertaining, we don't need to worry about the next day because 100% organic, chemical free wines that Barb and Geoff produce, don't leave you with any regrets and that throbbing head the next day. We can't recommend Ascella Organic wines highly enough!

We had an exquisite stay at Ascella. Barb is an extremely warm and welcoming host. The bedding was very comfortable, the bathroom perfectly clean. The breakfast was beautiful, Barb prepared a gorgeous organic fruit salad (among other organic treats). Barb and her husband did everything, so we had the most agreeable stay. Absolutely recommend staying at Ascella!

Surrounded by serene mountains, Ascella wines was clean, comfortable and homely. Barb and Jeff were so friendly and warm it felt like we were staying with family. The wine is excellent and guilt-free because you know they’re organic. So close to Sydney yet feels so far away, the perfect place to unwind and relax. Highly recommended 👍

My wife and I were celebrating our first wedding anniversary in the Hunter and decided to check out Ascella Organic Winery. Upon arrival we were greeted by Barb and Geoff who enthusiastically showed off their selection of organic wines that they put so much love and care into. Not to mention the beautiful farm setup they have there! Delicious selection and great cheeses too, thanks guys, just made our day. Definitely took a few bottles home!

A must for any wine/cheese connoisseurs going to the Hunter. The hosts are super friendly and go the extra mile. Amazing to spend time with the owners of the vineyard/wine and hear why they do things. Provided a great wine tasting experience which includes a selection of delightful organic cheeses. Will return for sure. Ideallic setting too.

Where do we even start! Wow Barb what a great host followed by amazing organic wines. I had never tried organic wine and loved every drop. Will definitely be back! Amazing location and service, perfect way to end the weekend. Thanks Barb!

We had a great time. We picked some grapes and visited the grinding stones along the creek, and the vineyard is near the fabulous Baiame Cave as well. The wines were very tasty, and the hosts very gracious. We opted to have a discussion from Geoff on the benefits of healthy eating and drinking. Geoff does a weekly radio program on radio 16, and it was fascinating to hear about the program. It was a pleasure for us to meet such nice people like Barb and Geoff and furthermore we enjoyed our time with them, thanks so much and wish you all the best...

Only just discovered this wonderful vineyard and fabulous organic wines. Love the passion and dedication that Barbara and Geoff bring to their wines. i strongly believe in the benefit and value of organic wine and now I have discovered it tastes so good I am a convert! Also the most authentic tasting experience in a delightful garden setting.

Do yourself a favour and take that 15 minute drive away from Pokolbin to Broke Fordwich area and visit the wineries here. Especially Ascella is a hidden gem you absolutely need to visit.

We tasted the beautiful wines in the garden overlooking the vines and what a view. Geoff and Barb was the best and most welcoming hosts who really have a passion for what they do. The organic wines is amazing and made with heart. Their Rosé is really unique as well as the red and white varieties.

We will definitely be back. 😊

What a delightful way to spend a couple of hours with a lovely couple tasting truly delicious wine and produce on their organic farm. Just a short drive from Broke and you have majestic views down the valley and great conversation from Geoff & Barb. Highly recommend and we will return when we're next in the area.

Wines were absolutely fantastic, could not speak highly enough of my visit to Ascella. The two owners are very welcoming and make you feel right at home.
Hands down the best wine tasting experience I have ever had.

Absolutely beautiful vineyard and incredibly smooth wine. The semillon and chardonnays are amazing. The shiraz and vintage red were also AMAZING! I will 100% be returning. Geoff and Barbara took such good care of me and I can highly recommend this winery! Go and visit them!

Barb and Geoff treated us like family . By the far the best wine tasting we had in the hunter . Personal , friendly and wine was fantastic . We picked grapes direct from the vines and left memebers of a cracking winery . Thank you Ascella wines for your generous and outstanding service !

Caught up with Barb and Geoff at the Italian Festival this year. They were really accommodating and provided us with a tasting of their very nice wines along with some great cheese. They really went out of their way to look after us and we look forward to the opportunity to visit them at the vineyard.

I stayed for a week in their B&B style accomodation while working in the area. Lovely people who make you feel at home! Very good (organically grown) wines too. Nice country location for some rest and relaxation.

The best wine tasting I have ever been to Barbara certainly knows her wine had a wonderful afternoon sampling her wonderful drop eating local cheeses and listening to the many adventures she and Geoff have had on their very interesting journey.

The wine tasting was a fantastic experience. Very interesting to hear about how the organic wines are made and the amount of antioxidants in them and the organic foods we eat. Thanks so much! Highly recommended....
