High Adventure Paragliding

What a life changing experience, Dave was patient, understanding and professional at all times. One of the best things you will ever do in your life. The emotional roller coaster that you go through learning a new skill as an adult is tricky at the best of times, but we never felt rushed or like we were taking too long. Being weather dependent makes it hard to fly everyday and get the practice in but being made to feel welcome to come back and still continue the journey makes it more personal and rewarding, to then achieve the goal of flying on your own is something that you will never forget and never stop doing once you master it. Dave at High Adventure Paragliding certainly makes the experience a rewarding, pleasurable and memorable experience for any ages. Our 15 year old son did it with us and loved every minute of it. Trust the Thrust and rely on Dave ✌🏻

I just finished a couple weeks ppg training with High Adventure and had a great time. I thought I’d leave a review in case you’re thinking maybe.

The syllabus is flexible, incremental, and progressive. Everyday had fun stuff to learn, new places to see and skills to develop; it feels more like a training holiday. Dave was our instructor, he’s laid back and easy to learn from. I went from zero to understanding weather conditions, some navigation, soaring ridges, and greasing spot landings, even some engine (preventative) maintenance too.

The High Adventure accommodation is inexpensive and comfortable, local food is within a short walk and more importantly, the launch sites are plenty and close by! Inland farms, beaches, coastal ridges to master and mountains to soar; you’ll be spoilt for choice.

Before the course I made a spread sheet to compare paramotoring gear (the Mrs insisted I buy new) and found prices tightly controlled by the manufacturers (like those lousy iPhones), the difference was negligible. Beyond that, Dave helped a couple students purchase and service their gear bought on the second-hand market where he stood little to gain. This speaks volumes to me should something not go according to plan, knowing the after sales care is there.

I did my 9day pg coarse with high adventure and Dave was an absolute legend! I wouldn’t recommend anyone else.

My partner is also a pg2 who learnt in the mountains a couple months prior, so she practiced ground handling while we were all learning. It was a little more windy than she was used to and he took the time to help her when he didn’t have to. Great bloke!!

He is a walking book of knowledge and
And knows how to deliver it so you understand it properly. And he knows how to deliver it over the radio while you are flying too, he’s got it figured out.

There is so many launch sites around Laurieton we flew everyday. And when the wind wasn’t right for all of the launch sites we still flew on the winch! It was an unreal experience, before I left I booked in the last two spots for the advanced paragliding coarse in Bali for my partner and I which I cannot wait for!

If you’re thinking about doing the coarse put high adventure on the top of your list! You won’t regret it.

High adventure was a great course. Flying was crazy fun and very safe with the instructor, Dave. The equipment was high quality and I felt looked after all the time. Dave was a patient and understanding instructor, who was always on the look out for us. He was very safe and at no point, did I feel so scared or uncomfortable in the air that I wanted to come down. Good flying spots around school so you have many options to get in the air. Overall great experience and would highly recommend.

Had a great time. I'm definitely coming back for my PPG. Instructors/trainers are very friendly and have lots of experience in the field, making learning easier and less stressful. 10/10 Will do again.

Simply an awesome experience. Coming from skydiving I had some habits that weren't 100% compatible with PG or PPG, Dave is a patient instructor who knows his topic very well. Highly recommended and would go back again just to fly or for further training. The school accommodation is great, Dave and Nikki were great hosts who made the stay there amazing.

Awesome 9 days of flying. Dave taught us heaps and kept us safe at all times.
We flew in a few different sites and even went towing when the wind wasn't good for soaring.

There is a rollercoaster of emotions that comes with learning a new skill, but the calm demeanor and safe space that Dave created during this course was unparalleled. I would highly recommend Dave to anyone who is intimidated taking to the skies for PG, PPG and Tandems Endorsements. Can’t wait to get back up to Laurieton and fly with the crew again :)

Epic experience. Loved doing this paragliding course. Dave is an excellent teacher and would recommend anyone to get their training here with Dave. In very safe experienced hands. We came up from interstate and I recommend anyone interested to do their course here and only here. Laurieton is an epic place to learn.

Great group of instructors. Had an excellent time, battled some weather but turned out great. Got lots of flying in, signed off and absolutely hooked!

Amazing experience, learnt heaps. I did the paramotor course with 4 days paragliding refresher as Im a PG2. Really improved my skills, kite handling and launching, im so much more confident and skilled at launching and landing in trick winds. You wont find better instruction. And what a great place to learn to fly, there are so many sites to fly, farm, beach, sea cliffs, and mountains. The paramotoring is really different, amazing to be untethered from the hill and free to fly anywhere and explore the world from the sky.

Wanting to fly can be an easy discussion, especially the buzz and the new perspective you get. However choosing a training school can be a very hard and detrimental choice. When I choose High Adventure to teach me how to fly, I was looking for a professional, highly knowledgeable and most importantly a safe and methodical approach to learning. I can hands down say that my expectations were not only met but far exceeded by Dave, Diorgo and the team. I look forward to coming back again even if it’s just to have another bbq.

I flew from Perth to get trained by Dave and Diogo. But it’s not only the super competent and welcoming staff, the actual paragliding spots around Laurieton are just splendid.

Briliant school to learn to fly! Dave and Aidan are both supportive instructors with a great knowledge and experience.They also have a comfy and convenient accommodation with a walking distance to shops, cafes and beautiful walking tracks by the river. High Adventure is highly reccomended!
