If you are going up or down the Pacific Highway, just south of Port Mac then drop into to Laurieton, you won't be disappointed. I went there to run up Big Brother via the Mountain Track. Hard push up but the views are oh so good at the top. Well worth the effort.

This is an epic walking track. Be prepared for one steep ascent. It just keeps going there are alot of steps and it is a really amazing challenge. Reaching the top is extremely rewarding and i love running back down again it takes way less time lol. The beach to brother trail run finished here and is 100 worth doing if you like to run. The view makes it worth the effort and its best to wear trail shoes or good hiking boots with grip as there are lots of parts with gravel or loose dirt so it makes it alot easier to go up or down with the right shoes. One of my favourite trails and views. Lots of trees to hang on to for the steep steps as well. Expect alot of steps and very few moments of relief from the ascent. Thats why I love this track. You do get glimpses of the view as you make the way up too, which just motivates you to get to the top.

The main track from Laurieton to the lookout is well beaten.

There are other loops you can do from the summit. These don't go anywhere in particular, but are a walk (for those into hiking). Sometimes the track is obvious, other times a GPS is needed to keep on the old track. Expect it to be overgrown - fun though.

You own insect repellent (take it with you) is necessary, as well as table salt, for the leeches.

Challenging/ moderate trek up 450 metre elevation through a well structured path. Rewarded at the top with a 180 degree view towards port macquarie.

Absolutely beautiful! Loved every bit of it. Is amazing being able to start down the bottom of the hill not being able to grasp the sheer height you are about to climb and then when you get to the top the view is like nothing else

Beautiful trail, took us as experienced hikers around 1,5 hours due to the warm weather. View on top is amazing, watch out for Leechs and check your shoes after the walk

Honestly pretty difficult. I couldn't find any water source at the top, so I recommend that you bring plenty. I did it during coldish summer weather, and it was the perfect temperature.

A decent hike up this mountain pays off spectacularly with gorgeous views along the trek and at the top. The hike requires medium level of fitness and is not ideal for children or those that are 5ft tall or less as the steps on the track are quite high. Great track, easy to navigate and very rewarding at the end as well as during the hike.

Best walk up to the top . Took about 1.5 hours to get to the tippy top and the view is well worth the hike. 👍👍 Incredible views but don't forget to take a jumper because it's sometimes very windy and fresh at the top. Also if you like, take a snack and rest up for 20 minutes at the top before walking back down!

Just finished the 3km mountain trail, excellent hike up. full of stairs, rocks and uneven ground but a great walk for anyone with a basic fitness level. Took us 1 hr to get up there and the view of laurieton and surrounds was amazing!!!
Only problem was there was no where to refill your water bottle at the top of the hill. Otherwise a great morning!!!! Feeeeeel the burn!!!

This lookout is still CLOSED..has been closed since about March...its a fabulous view from there, it's just a pity you have no indication of being closed until you drive there. Especially driving 30mins plus to get there.

Such a wonderful challenge, but so do-able. We normally park a car at the top and only walk up so we don't have to deal with slippery rubble.

A good walk up the mountain . The track is steep and irregular in places but well maintained.
