Anita Boecksteiner is the best orthopaedic surgeon in Melbourne as far as I know. She did my ACL surgery and my aunt’s knee replacement. Always friendly and approach options taking account of patients need. I can’t thank her enough!

Dr. Anita Boecksteiner is an amazing surgeon.
She performed key hole surgery on my left knee for a meniscus tear. The tear was more complicated than the MRI showed and she knew how to handle the complication with ease.
Dr Anita did an amazing job and although recovery was long, she made me feel at ease that time will see improvement.
By trusting her, she proved herself right.

A year after my surgery l tore my right knee meniscus so prior to seeing her, l obtained a 'second' opinion first with Mr Andrew McQueen. He immediately said l needed surgery on both knees (while the left one was still in healing mode) and that he could fit me in next week.
This was extremely disappointing after l spoke to Dr Anita who reassured me that surgery on both knees was not necessary.

Through trusting Dr Anita's expertise, l realised that time healed my left knee's scar tissue damage and my right knee eventually got better.

I am extremely happy to confirm that there are surgeons out there that perform with honesty and integrity!

With playing competitive sport all my life it comes with injury. I was referred to Dr Anita Boecksteiner many years ago by a friend for my shoulder injury. With visiting her and receiving excellent service on arrival from her reception staff I felt at ease straight away. On going into my consult with Anita I could recognise right from the start with her care and professionalism I was in the right hands. She was very honest and thorough with her advise on treatment. I have had to have surgery with Anita several times with different joints and every experience has been excellent. Her care in hospital is just as attentive as her care in her consulting rooms. I have gone from several nagging injuries and not being able to play sport to back playing competitive tennis and netball in my mid 40's. Anita also played a very important role in the recovery of my 13 yo son's sporting injury to his back last year, after 3 months off the footy field with her expert guidance and advise he has fully recovered, maintaining a health body and playing his sports. I could not recommend Anita highly enough as one of the best Orthopedic Surgeons we have in the industry. I have recommended her to family, friends and even people I have just met so that they too can have the best care they need.

After a number of years of painful knees - I bit the bullet and finally saw Anita - it was the BEST thing I could have done. My knee replacement was a success and the pain was instantly gone - Yes, its only been 6 months and yes, I still get stiffness after long days on my feet but my only regret is not having both knees done at the same time. Anita was and is always professional, succinct and to the point, she explains carefully and is most willing to answer questions. I couldn't recommend Anita enough. Not only did she come highly recommended by my GP, but once my insurance heard who I had chosen, they were over the moon. Her name and reputation preceded her. I am so glad I made this choice... Anita took on my workcover case after other orthopaedic surgeons told me I needed to accept that my injury was career ending and to move on from nursing. After 12 months of workcover continuously rejecting the surgery request, Anita did nothing but advocate for me over and over. Thanks to her kindness and dedication, the surgery was approved and thank goodness it was, because the amount of damage in my shoulder was huge! To have someone believe you when no one else did was the most important thing she could have done. Anita performed a Subacromial Decompression, Bursectomy and a hell of a lot of adhesion removal. I am just over 3 months post-op and my range of movement is practically back to normal, the pain and clicking in my shoulder has gone and I've been cleared to finally go back to work as a nurse. I never could have gotten this far without Anita! Thank you for everything!

Anita is an excellent orthopaedic surgeon. She has taken great care of my husband over a number of years with his shoulder issues. She is extremely professional, competent and very caring. I have been very blessed to have Dr Anita Boecksteiner to do my patella stabilisation surgery and other knee surgery. Without that i would not have been able to climb Sydney Harbor Bridge and a part of the Great Wall of China! Anita has been instrumental in my recovery from a car accident. I suffered from bursitis in my shoulder, for which my Gp had given many cortisone injections. I had a consultation with Dr Anita Boecksteiner, who was excellent. Anita gave me clear, informative information regarding my options for treatment and advised it would be a slow recovery. Anita was correct, it did take a long time but now I am at the point where I must think which shoulder was it that I had a problem with. I felt Anita was open and honest, an excellent surgeon and a true professional in her care for her patients. I have no hesitation recommending Anita as a surgeon and know that when it comes time for my knee surgery there is no other that I would want to care for me.

Dr Anita has been instrumental in my sons recovery from a football injury. Right from the initial consultation through to diagnosis and treatment she has been amazing! Would highly recommend her as a specialist who is a great communicator and actually really cares throughout treatment and recovery. This review is my 11 year follow-up from surgery in 2010. Anita repaired my double leg compound fractures over the course of 3 operations. She put an Alizarov frame on one leg, and inserted a rod in the other along with grafted bone and a type of 'growth' hormone. Her professionalism and care were always 1st rate. I seriously doubt I would have walked again without Anita's work. 11 years later, and I can work, walk, lift, carry my kids, and I have climbed Mt Bartle Frere and The Pyramid, Cairns. She helped me get my life back.

After a very successful and professional experience with Dr Anita Boecksteiner surgically repairing my sons Knee due to sports injury, and inhouse physio for rehabilitation, I myself consulted Dr Boecksteiner regarding an old aggravated knee injury and was pleasantly surprised with the non surgical advise I received. Dr Anita Boekcksteiner operated on me first time in 2007 to repair my right knee then again in 2010 for a full knee replacement I found her to be an excellent orthopaedic surgeon with great patient doctor skills. She explained everything thoroughly about my operation , recovery and rehabilition . I recovered with full movement of my knee as was climbing kings canyon in the Northern Territory 12 months later ,hiking up to 29 Klms with no pain at all. Since then my husband and brother have had three shoulder and one knee procedure done. I have had full confidence in dr Anita Boecksteiner and have given her number to friends who need a great orthopaedic surgeon all have had great results. My knee is still going strong with a trip to India and more trips up north hiking and tasmania. I recommend her as a orthopaedic surgeon.

I have know this surgeon for more than 7 years , i looked around extensively to find a Surgeon that would help me with my excruciating pain and a surgeon that would operate on a DOULBLE HIP REPLACEMENT.
Not only did she make my life mobile again but pain free .
I chose Dr Anita because i felt extremely comfortable with her professionalism, and honesty and loyalty towards me .
