Lancelin Sand Dunes

Quite large area where you can rent either quad bikes or sand boards. We opted for the quad bike guided ride where you follow a guide along the dunes for 30 minutes.

Highly recommended as you can see lots more of the dunes than by walking around. Prepare to get sandblasted during wind gusts, so dress appropriately and wear goggles.

Fun place to visit, it’s a bit of a walk to reach the dunes from the car park so maybe not ideal for small kids unless they can be carried.

Anti gravity for few seconds in your life is what Sand Dunes can give to to experience… quad bikes 🏍… or boards .. have fun .. about 130 KMs north of Perth we have Lancelin Sand Dunes … nice to do it alongside Moore River Estuary visit … plan a day or two stay in Lancelin to enjoy a short break

Lancelin Dunes in Western Australia was an absolute highlight of our Australian adventure! We had an exhilarating experience driving our Toyota Rav into the dunes and sandboarding down the soft, white sand hills. The thrill of speeding down the dunes was pure adrenaline fun!

Conveniently, we hired the sandboarding equipment from the local gas station, but you can also rent from the trailers parked at the entrance. This made it easy to get started and enjoy the experience without any hassle.

What's great about Lancelin Dunes is that there are activities for all ages to enjoy. From sandboarding to quad biking, and even just exploring the stunning scenery, there's something for everyone.

The scenery itself is breathtaking - the vast expanse of white sand dunes stretching as far as the eye can see is a sight to behold. It's truly one of the most unique and scenic places we visited during our time in Australia.

Superb place to get away from the city. Visited here in January 2024 on weekends, so it’s very chilly and nice to play in the open. The buggy is a must!

Summer sunset is a good time to have the whole dessert mostly to yourself. No dune buggies nor tourists

Awesome experience at the sand dunes! Appreciate the vastness of the sand dunes, and that it is being kept natural and clean. Free entry.

Recommend sand boarding! Can rent the board at the entrance door AUD10 per hour and head to the dune of your liking, either by foot or by your car. Happy surfing!

There are also 4WD experiences available, but I found it to be too expensive. Nevertheless, we had an extremely fun time sand boarding even though it was very cold and the wind was a consistent strong gust, with the sand particles beating down on us.

It was fun. There is a kiosk at the entrance where you can hire the sand board and quad. Dogs welcome on leash.

Beautiful place. Calm and relax. Rental of equipment start 10am here at the Carpark.

If you want to start the fun earlier, do rent the sand board at nearby shops/gas station before head here.

We often visit the dunes for an one day trip. My families love it especially the kids have lots of fun. Remember to wear your protectors from the sand and sun. Nice star view place if the weather allowed.

Amazing and special white sand views. But the wind was always strong. Wearing long sleeve and eye-protecting glasses might be necessary.

Loved it! The guides were very helpful. Went there with the whole family. It was so much fun. It was something we've always wanted to do. My kids got to ride too. Everybody had a blast.

It’s a good experience. I recommend to go there as a group to spend couple of hours.
If gouging have your own 4x4 you can drive in to the sand dunes easily, if not you may have to walk.
Can rent a ATV from there and have fun.

Very fun to sandboard here which you can hire for $10 an hour. Be prepared for sand in your pants and keep an eye out for windy weather. Lancelin beach is also close by
