Stopped in for lunch after the taste of Chittering event. Despite being very busy managed to find us a table for two. Fantastic food and very attentive service. Live music from 3pm on the Sunday too. Matched wines were a winner also.

Delicious goat curry. Always something new to try on the specials board.
My husband loved the barramundi and prawns too
Main Meals are average $40pp
Waitress was helpful with gluten free dishes. Other dishes like the roast can be made gluten free by taking out the gravy.
Love the fire place inside for winter ❄

You'll feel like you have stumbled into a quaint slice of English countryside with rolling green hills. A little gem of a restaurant with an open fireplace, generous servings all accompanied with great wine.

Fancy an escape from the rat-race of the city? Take a nice 45 minute drive north from the city and turn right off Tonkin Highway onto Muchea E Rd into the hills of Chittering, and in but a few minutes you will be at Stringybark Winery Restaurant. Situated in farmland amongst the many trees there is ample parking. Stroll up the path and brace yourself for the stunning rustic interior of the restaurant with its beautiful stone floor and the largest fireplace you will have ever seen.
You can dine inside or out so the weather will not hinder you in your visit.
Aside from the peace and quiet, and the sumptuous selection of delicious culinary offerings, fine wine and beers, the staff are absolutely hilarious. If you have a great sense of humour like ours you are going to have an entertaining day or evening.
The venue is a testimony to the pride of the owner and the staff.

Don't be fooled by the limited menu on the website. The specials board truly reflects the quality credentials of the chef at this restaurant. Perfectly twice cooked sticky duck and goat curry followed the arancini starters and we were not disappointed. Can't wait to return to the open fire to try the other great dishes on offer at Stringybark.

The first word out of my mouth when I had a bite of my meal was oh my god, it was so good. Lovely people Mary and Bruce, couldn’t be more welcoming and service was well above the norm. Well worth the visit just for that let alone the food and wine. Add on to this review, just been here for Sunday breakfast, Full English- best by a country mile we have had . Really do recommend this lovely place .

A cute, cosy, restaurant with an inviting atmosphere and friendly staff. Wine tasting is offered before dining. Meals were prompt, tasty and very generous in portions. I can highly recommend the pumpkin gnocchi and chilli mussels from the main menu. There's also a specials blackboard. The 2017 Cabinet Shiraz was devine and deserves the three gold medals its won. Will definitely be back 😊

We went here for lunch for our 5 year wedding anniversary with our two young daughters. First to arrive we got to pick the best table, Mary offered us a wine tasting, can attest the verdelho is award winning (we purchased a bottle for home along with a bottle of the rose). My husband ordered the duck special as recommended by Mary, it lived up to the expectation. We had the 3 cheese mushroom arancini balls to start and I had the squid and greek salad entree it is the best squid I've eaten in a long time, the service was impeccable, our girls shared a nuggets and chips along with some yummy icecream, Mary bought out the toy box to entertain the girls while we ate. Highly recommend visiting for wine tasting and an amazing meal. We will definitely be returning!

Was the last stop on a chittering based scavenger hunt that was to result in a nice picnic on the stringybark winery grounds.

Upon arrival we were greeted with a cold glass of water and a warm smile from the owner and proprietor Mary. She offered us some delicious house marinated olives (more on this later)

She entertained and delighted us with a tasting of all stringybarks highly awarded range of wines each paired with a hilarious tale regarding the wines origin. Mary, both a showman and wine maker herself, has an intimate knowledge of the amazing array on display. It’s hard not to lose yourself in her passion for her wines it’s infectious. The rose stood out as a particular favourite for us. Strawberry’s and cream on the front palate, toffee apple in the mid and a very pleasant medium dry finish that kept you going back for another sip. A perfect meal wine.

We decided to throw caution to wind and scrap our picnic and dine at the venue. We were Recomended the pate and the sticky half duck (both staples on the menu) I have to say both did not disappoint. The pate, rich creamy decadent just left us wanting more. Served with perfectly toasted mini baguettes and a sharp tart berry glaze it delighted the tastebuds. The prize and showstopper however was the duck, absolutely marvelled us at its size. The chef has roasted the duck to perfection. Moist crispy tender in all the places you want. Served with Asian greens and on a bed of rice and a side bowl of that sticky sauce for added deliciousness.
Upon completion, all that was left to do was get home for a nap after a job well done.

We asked Mary if we could purchase some of her house marinated olives to go, which she was only more than happy to accomodate. We have decided stringybark winery will be our new anniversary tradition. Do yourself a favour and take the drive up to stringybark winery. You won’t regret it.

Great place to eat, really friendly staff.
Curry was 10 out of 10, well worth pulling off the main road.

Surprisingly great venue. Casual, relaxed dining with such an incredible view. The food was house made, high quality, restaurant style with reasonably large servings. The service was very attentive and considered. While we ate outside, the inside looked charming. The Stringybark wines were also a very pleasant surprise and the Rose and Verdelho are so very good. They had local art for sale on the walls, donkeys and sheep in the paddock and all up a very enjoyable afternoon.

Outstanding experience. The "gingerbread" tasting duck was incredible and left us wanting more. The wine recommendations for each meal was very much appreciated. Thank you to all at Stringybark for a wonderful evening!

Warm friendly staff, paired with genuine fancy free good wholesome food that would make your Grandmother jealous! Rustic and warm interior…. and the best thing? The desert. You will leave full and satisfied. We will be retuning for the Schnitzel and Mushroom sauce, Prawns and the Slow Cooked Beef Cheek!
