Upper Stony Visitor Area

About 45 minute drive to Upper Stoney Creek from Yeppoon and just over an hour from Rockhampton. There is a grassed day use area with gas barbecues and picnic tables close by to the swimming hole. The water was ice cold and so clear that we could see little fish. There is camping available on the other side of the creek. There are clean toilets. There were some mosquitoes and march flies so come prepared.

Beautiful natural swimming hole with a QLD parks campground nearby. The visitor area has toilets and a BBQ. It gets quite busy on weekends and public holidays so get there early if you want the serenity to yourself.

Visitor centre is well maintained - toilets, benches, bbqs and grass area. Swimming is incredible! Pick a quiet day and you’ll love it. 900m walking circuit is open, but the longer track is currently closed.

This water was magical at Upper Stones Creek in the Byfield National Park so blue and fresh! Great place for a picnic and a nice small walk is there, the longer circuit was closed so hopefully it opens again in the future. Great place to go!

Perfect spot for swimming in clear clean safe water close to camping n facilities. Peaceful and worth the hr drive from bundy.

Absolutely gorgeous spot to visit! The water was fresh but once you were in it was lovely. There is a main swimming spot but if you walk up the track a bit you can access the stream and have your own little private spot. So lovely to take a picnic lunch and relax.

Beautiful place to relax for the day! Clean and tidy amenities and picnic area. You can camp here right near the creek. The water was freezing this time of year!

An oasis place for swimming and camping. Very popular on weekends with locals. Restrooms available. No rubbish bins so take your rubbish home.

Crystal clear water with three jumping trees. Toilets, picnic tables, plenty of grass and a few bbq's. Camping is just back from the creek. Good road to get there on.

Perfect little spot for family and friends to gather for picnics, and fun in the lagoon river...

Bee terrific is there was more camp sites there but was great to do a day trip there just the same.

Don't miss this camping spot! Spacious camping site, toilets, tap and a beautiful creek down below that will provide absolute serenity. It also has a jumping rope :)

Absolutely beautiful. It's pretty easy to reach and quite cheap. ( paid 6,15 AU$ per person at the Capricorn Coast Visitor Information Centre) You can swim in the creek because the only reptiles in there are turtles.

Beautiful freshwater creek great for swimming. Public restrooms and gas BBQs with tables and benches. Good shaded campgrounds with communal camp kitchen and ammenity block.
Watch out for snakes.

Google directions are off, but just follow the signs. Clean picnic area and toilets. Great place for a swim. There is a dirt road but its normally well grated

One of CQs best swimming spots.. Bring your own Shade though as there are little shady spots in the day area. There are tables and a few BBQs but no bins you maut remove your own waste.
