Flame is an absolute local institution - if you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out! Everything on the menu is delicious and it’s so nice to have a local takeaway option that is just like home-cooked food. Sophie, Harry, Plaire and the team are friendly and know their locals. I love the decor and the fact that it hasn’t changed recently - truly vintage. It is accessible for people with mobility needs, and is nice and quiet if you’re dining with someone who prefers calm environments. So nice not to have to shout to hear the person next to you over dinner. Great to have a BYO venue too. Thank you, Flame! You are doing a stellar job.

A treat to taste buds! Ordered the chicken skewers with traditional Greek salad which was the yummiest dish I ever had. Lovely staff and to top it off authentic Greek Food. Must visit if you live in the vicinity!

Great food friendly staff amazing atmosphere oh and if u order the seafood set menu make sure you are very hungry.

A really authentic Greek restaurant run by a Greek family. Decor a little dated but that adds to the atmosphere. Never been a disappointment

We just had Flame for my birthday dinner at home. I have been craving proper Greek home style cooking for so long and it was absolutely exceptional. I had the Moussaka and it was the best Moussaka I have ever eaten. Along with vegetables, it was a huge serving. Everyone loved the dips and whitebait as well. Everything was delicious. Sophie, your food is perfection. I grew up eating so much Greek Food in Melbourne and I have missed it so much. Next time I am back in town, I will definitely be back. Thank you for making my birthday extra special.

Wow!! The service was great. The waiter had a sense of humour. The food was amazing. The meat delicious. The Greek coffee was so good, I had two. Everything I ate tasted delicious . I don't usually give reviews. I am fussy. Eating here made me happy. : )

This is one of our favorite places to eat. We have been coming here for over 30 years and the service is just as good today as it was when we first starting coming here. I would highly recommend

Always consistently good and fresh food, I really don't bother with a souvlaki anywhere else on this side of town and possibly the best in Melbourne!
Also make a delicious moussaka.

We were a bit confused when we walked into the front of the store as it looked like a fish and chip shop! However greeted by super friendly service and walked through to the seating area of the restaurant. Quaint and comfortable serving delicious, authentic Greek food with excellent service - fast and friendly. I was WAY too full to finish my dessert, so they packaged it up nicely for me and I had it for morning tea the next day! Would definitely recommend and will return :)

Well prices and such large serves. The food here is amazing with a amazing charcoal taste. Been here many times and the staff is so kind!

Easily the best authentic Greek restaurant in the eastern suburbs. I've eaten the lamb souva, moussaka and rice custard... excellent excellent excellent!!! Soooo flavoursome.

Celebrated my wife birthday tonight in lockdown with my children and very so happy with the delicious food I ordered from the Greek restaurant in balwyn. Very nice quantity and top quality of the cuisine. Beautiful Greek salad too. We even got Easter biscuit. So lovely of the owners. Regards Patrick

Flame make the best Greek food in Melbourne! We have been coming here for about 30 years and in all this time, the food has stayed consistently amazing. The owner, Sophie, always gives us such a friendly greeting before cooking the most incredible food. I highly recommend the lamb souvlaki, or really anything else! It’s all amazing

Went there last night with our family, we all really enjoyed it, food was amazing, great atmosphere, great staff, our waitress Sophia was wonderful and made us so welcome, they were busy but still took the time to have a quick chat and make sure we were all happy with everything. Great authentic Greek hidden behind looks like a takeaway front. Don't be fooled, behind that front is a full restaurant. The staff is friendly and quick. The food came out fast with good presentation on the plates. Appealing to the eye and the palate. I recommend the tzatziki for an entree and follow it with the gyro on a pita. Delicious.

A great gem in our neighbourhood. Service was great, food was amazing! Tried them for the 1st time and they certainly didn't disappoint. We will certainly be supporting this local this restaurant during iso and beyond. You guys rock !
