We just needed some lollies to continue our road-trip. The guy on the register was friendly. Prices were like those at a servo. The interior is a little bare but the store appeared to cater to the needs of people going camping.

"The Friendly Grocer" they called it...hmmm far from it! Stopped over at the one in Cann River this afternoon on our way down to Melbourne. My partner checked in and walked in first (FYI he is white) as I was trying to download the Vic Health app to check in. He was greeted with "hello". Then I walked in while still navigating through the Vic Health check in app...no hello but "can I see your vaccination record?" Straight up, cold as ice!! Now, it's the times we live in so bravo for asking but why only me? Did not say anything, showed her the proof, and walked in...I then soon realised that her eyes did not leave me...they followed me everywhere I went! ... and yes, I am black just as she is also a migrant!! I felt most unwelcome. Why do we do this to eachother?? Seriously! Grow a heart!!

Mostly empty, bottle shop very sparse with prices that are 100% above everywhere else, very unwelcoming. I can see why it's up for sale, has been for a couple of years now.

Ghastly expensive. $20 for two cokes and a packet of chips.

AUD 4.50 for the cheapest bottle of 1.5 liter water😂
