Great place with lovely staff and a great atmosphere. I'm not vegan but I really enjoyed the food here. The satay and laksa were filling and tasty. The food also comes out very quick!

I love the backyard!! It's quiet and the garden plants were adorable!

Food was awesomely made all vegetarian. The team provided brilliant service with good recommendations of food and beverages.
The green papaya salad was so fresh and delicious and the chumchum dish was so delightful.

What a great find! Fantastic option for vegetarians and vegans. The service was incredibly quick. All the dishes were good but the avocado magic was exquisite. The booking process was very smooth and the staff were quite helpful. The portion sizes, particularly for the entrees, could have been more generous. Overall, great experience and definitely would dine here again!

A great little vegan Asian fusion place. The avocado entree is very unexpectedly good. The mushroom dumplings on the other hand is quite plain. The laksa is a must try. I personally prefer less creamy laksa, and they got it. The dessert caramel tofu is soooo good! Can’t miss it!

What a delightful meal at this cute little cottage. The food was delicious with fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked and seasoned . Will definitely be back. A toss up between favorite satay (best sauce have tried in Melbourne) or the lasagne with the tantalizing crushed walnut addition in the layers.

Such a cozy and homely restaurant. I felt like I was being invited for dinner in someone’s own home. We had the hardest time selecting mains to share, because they all sounded delectable, and it’s all vegan! We finally decided on the chicken satay and the lasagna and oh gosh, the lasagna in particular I can’t stop thinking about. I haven’t been able to eat lasagna in like 20 years since I can’t have cheese, and after this experience I can’t wait to try more vegan lasagna. The flavours were just incredible and well thought out.

A wide range of delicious vegan options. We had the flat bread and dip and battered avocado to start. The avocado was scrumptious. The bread was good but the dip was a little bland. Mains were satay, laksa and curry. All were fabulous. The wine was reasonably priced - we had a prosecco. The service was friendly and helpful. It was a wonderful experience which we will definitely be repeating.

Delicious vegan food. I had amazing gyoza and these udon noodles with seitan, tempeh and tofu, it was fire!!

I have to say this is really delicious vegan meal I had in Melbourne. I love the satay dishes. Laksa is not like traditional Malaysian one too spicy for me. I would love to go back here again.

My fiancé and I visited Shakahari the other night and really enjoyed their delicious meals! For the entree I was recommended the Avocado 🥑 magic by the waiter, then the vegan satay, I was not disappointed! Even though their meals aren’t massive, were pretty full so we shared the pana cotta which was also really good. All dishes are vegan so it’s easy to choose a dish. Customer service was very friendly and attentive, we’ll definitely be back to try something else on the menu.

I still remember my dining experience here, and it was all good things and praise. As soon as we entered the little house turned restaurant, we were warmly greeted by the staff. This place serves some quality vegetarian dishes. I believe everything we ordered back then was delicious. The staff were also attentive and quickly got our needs addressed. Their toilets are located at a separate elevated back garden area outside, so it further shows the layout reminiscent of a former house.

Overall great experience. We had the satay, curry and laksa, and the avocado. The food tasted great but think it is definitely on the pricey side. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere.

We walked in 15 mins before the kitchen closed and they accepted us with a smile. We had the peanut satay skewers which were delish! Our server was so cute and their hospitality was top notch 💗

Great food, great location especially if you are attending La Mama. A simple menu allows attention to detail.

Food was excellent. Service was quick, polite and helpful. Old world charm in a heritage building in Carlton. Thoroughly recommend it but you better hurry because they told us owners will be closing the doors by 23 December 2023 unless somebody rescues the business. We hope they continue on.
