Guildford Vineyard & Cellar

We stumbled upon this biodynamic and organic winery on our way to Castlemaine. The building that hosts the long lunches is homely and unique.

We stopped by with no real plan but were invited to have a wine tasting by Louique. She and her husband are the wine makers which they make using the fruit from the vineyard and local grapes.

We tried six beautiful wines and learnt a lot about the area. We loved the Pinot Noir.

Even though they were hosting a long lunch, they offered to make a grazing board for us. Zack, the chef, has created a beautiful loaf of sourdough focaccia. It was delicious and soaked up the hummus and vegetarian terrine and beautiful tomatoes and stone fruit with ease. The lamb was a real show stopper.

Overall, the earthy feel of this winery was something I have not come across before and I would say that it is unique in the region. You should try it.

lunch for a special friends birthday. Also catered for a guest with gluten free and dairy free needs. Gave them sufficient notice. Great wines, amazing food and a beautiful location.

Lunch Saturday was magnificent. So much variety and so much choice. Delicious flavours and combinations, all complimented by this lovely boutique vineyard's wine list. We found the Gulidford Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon definitely to our liking. The staff displayed all the class of a top class restaurant in a comfortable, warm rustic setting. What a beautiful rustic winery setting with A+ grade food. The chef is amazing and knows his local produce. My husband and I both vegan thoroughly enjoyed the food so much so, my sister will be asking for the vegan menu next time.

Had a delightful family gathering. Food was delicious - simple, but well cooked and and served in generous proportions. The timing of the service (spread over 4 hours! It was, after all, a LONG LUNCH) was impeccable. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient but never in the way. We all very much enjoyed the day and I expect that we will be back! Thanks to Zack and the crew.

Unique and delicious long lunch at a very smart winery restaurant. Different menu every time you visit. Inventive and skilled chef supported by a friendly professional floor crew. Unique wines plus a sparkling, match perfectly with the menu. Recommended!

A really beautiful long lunch for my partners 30th birthday! The food was absolutely incredible. The lovely staff went above and beyond (and even managed to accommodate tricky dietaries at the last minute). Thank you so much for having us!!! All the guests raved about food, wine and service. Waited over 12 months to try the Guildford Winnery and I must say it was well worth the wait. Zack is an amazing chef and the food was exceptional. Catering for all our needs he certainly didn’t disappoint and will definitely be back.

Had a beautiful long lunch there yesterday for a friends birthday. The food was delicious and bought out at perfect intervals and the staff were so friendly and relaxed. It was honestly the best. Can’t wait to go back for a 3rd time. Great value for money too.
