Qilin Chinese Restaurant

Very nice restaurant. The dishes and service were outstanding! The scallops were so fresh. Calamari from the clay pot melts in your mouth. The servers were very friendly. It is one of the best restaurants around The Glenn.

We love Qilin (formerly east empress) my husband and I have both been going there for over 20 years separately, 5 years together and now our daughter is joining us and will grow up on this food as well. By far the best Chinese food in Melbourne, reasonably priced, food is incredible every time and never had a bad meal. Service is impeccable each and every time! Yum!

Food is delicious and very tasty. The presentation is superb. The ambiance is quiet and restful even though outside it is a busy place. A delightful place to enjoy a quiet luncheon.

We had a perfectly portioned Peking duck with pancakes, yummy sweet & sour pork, melt in the mouth wagyu truffle beef and delicious Conpoy Fried Rice. And desert to top it off 🥳

Had a great dining experience at Qilin. Ingredients are of high quality and fresh. All the dishes we ordered are well presented and most importantly, delicious. Restautant decor is nice. Unlike some Chinese restaurants’ crowdedness and loudness, Qilin places tables distant from each other, so you don’t overhear conversations. Great ambience, yummy food, highly recommended!

Lovely spot! We went for my birthday and got banquet B. The staff was friendly. The salt and pepper prawns were my favorite part, though the special fried rice was a close second. Everyone left happy and so full!

Number 1 spot to go for incredible Chinese food in Melbourne! Have gone twice now and both times the food and service has been impeccable. The food tastes really fresh and is always cooked to perfection. Our favourites so far are the Peking Duck, Szechwan Chicken and Combination Noodles, but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

A beautiful Restaurant with excellent Chinese foods. Parking close by at public parking area. This Restaurant has been in this area for over 30 years and continues to serve very good food. If you want something really special try the Salt and Pepper Prawns as they are to die for. Would recommend for a special occasion or with a large group of friends. Not cheap but very good.

Really enjoyed the food here. Had a number of shared dishes, as was a work dinner. There were about 10 of us, so we each chose a dish. Stand out dishes were the chicken with cashews, prawn and vegetables, scallops and vegetables. Excellent attentive table service. Very clean restaurant. Not to crowded and is situated over two levels. Toilets are upstairs, however there is a lift avoiding having to walk up. Was surprised at the amount of dishes on the menu and all reasonably priced. Modern Chinese food served here in an inviting setting. Would definitely eat here again.

The food and service here were outstanding. The salted egg yolk prawns are better than Din Tai Fung, and the Chicken Congee is heartwarming. We originally found this place through Uber Eats, but since it’s so close decided to stop in for dinner. It’s bright and vibrant, but not overly noisy. The servers were very attentive, and the speed of service was astonishingly quick.

This is a higher class restaurant than your average take-away. The prices are a little higher but the quality is a lot higher. If you are looking for a place to dine in, this is a very good option. Even if you are looking for better than your average take-away, this is still a great option.

We visited close to closing time but the staff were very kind and friendly. Ordered some simple food like Mapo tofu and fried rice which were simply awesome. Went back there next day with friends during normal dinner time. Service was even better. The kind lady welcomed us and poured the tea for each one of us. Ordered more elaborate menus like including pecking duck. The food is top class. Will go back whenever I visit Melbourne.

Had a banquet meal at this restaurant with 3 others and we all enjoyed the dishes which were delicious. One of our guests required gluten-free versions of the dishes which were served along with the other dishes. The service was very good as well. I don’t normally go out to Chinese restaurants but would happily eat here again.

This restaurant would have to be one our our favourite. My husband is a coeliac and it is never a bother. Clara and Jason look after us very well. Delicious food. Great presentation and service. Thanks we will be back soon sharyn and John

One of the best chinese food in Melbourne hands down. You definitely don't wear your flip flops to this place. Service was great. We will def be back for the special fried rice and red bean pancake.
