El Dorado Museum

There is an extraordinary amount of historical collections dating back to the 1800's. The building itself is historical. There is a diverse range of collections like tools, previous stones, home implements that were mainly donated by locals who lived/live in the town.
The charges are;
Adults $5
Children $3
Families $15
It's usually open every Sunday afternoon from 2:00-4:30pm (covid permitting) and on most public holidays.

Quaint little town with a great little museum. Check out the shed. Beaut array of horse drawn equipment. Volunteer Sue was a delight. Check out the pottery if you can. Have a chat with Howard.

Beautiful old school building from the gold rush period. The exhibits are wonderful, and varied. it's a look into a hard past of Eldorado. Our guide was a wonderful lady armed with a well researched knowledge .

Loads of things to look at. 2yo Son enjoyed looking at the old tractors, machinery, old typewriters and toys.

Lots to see. We also watched an interesting video on the history of Eldorado.

Got lost in there for hour and half if you are into history great place

Had been wanting to visit the Museum for some time and was very impressed with their old school house building, the many items showing the social history of the area and the large collection of carts and machinery. Everything is well laid out, labelled and the video on the dredge is a must viewing. The large dredge is also a must visit item and sitting in it's pondage is an impressive sight to see. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Turns out those spanish explorers were right, El Dorado exists, but not where they searched.

Excellent.

Was closed when we were there . Good bits to see on out side of building and in a shed to look in to . If going past it's a place to have a look at .
