We started visiting Venus Bay around 5 years ago. We chose Venus Bay as it is a real holiday feeling. The houses are all on tank water, septic systems and still some dirt roads.

It felt like the holidays I went on as a kid and I wanted to share it with my family.

We have rented holidays homes in the area many times (at least 10). We have rented with Venus Bay Short Stays 4-5 times.

Using this website unlocked more holiday home options especially over the summer. It is also better value for money than other platforms.

Highly recommend!

Tried to book 3 properties, all came back cancelled saying dates not available (even though they were on the site) waste of time. Left a message for someone to call back. No call back. No idea about customer service. Have now booked but still took a lot more work than required.

Really disappointed with Venus Bay Short Stays. We were lucky enough to book a much needed getaway between lockdowns however when we arrived the 3 bedroom house we booked only had two accessible bedrooms (one was locked) and there were only 2 beds in the house. We had to find alternative accommodation and then we were told we were not entitled to a refund as we did not provide enough notice. Really poor service and no accountability. The accommodation is even still listed incorrectly as a 3 bedroom!

Extremely disappointing. Everything promised on site not lived up to. Brought up with management no sense of accountability. Poor customer service, didn’t even chase up complaints to rectify failings. Paid a mint for the stays. The house is dirty, broken washing machine. Supplied broken mop. Rang up to notify management, didn’t even get a call back. Dirty walls in every room. Broken Shower doors. Contradicting information on sales receipt also. Please guys think twice before u book. The house looks nothing like what is on website. Never again. Poor value for money.
Venus bay is absolutely stunning. We will definitely visit again but will be staying elsewhere.

Venus Bay is a wide bay and a township on that bay on the east coast of Victoria, Australia. At the 2016 census Venus Bay had a population of 944. The name Venus Bay was given to the bay by a French expedition under Nicholas Baudin. This was apparently after George Bass's trading ship the Venus. The town of Venus Bay is situated on a narrow peninsula of land located 180 km south-east of Melbourne. Originally named Evergreen the town takes its name from the body of water on its western shore. On the eastern side of the peninsula is Anderson's Inlet, named after the settler Samuel Anderson. source
