Amazing Japanese cuisine: some of the best sushi we've had in Melbourne. Cosy, friendly atmosphere with quick service. Would highly recommend & definitely will be back!

Been years since I came here, and stopped by whilst we were in town. Glad to see the food is as wonderful as ever. Ordered a mixture of dishes to share with my partner and they were all delicious. A good word of warning though...One can easily lose track of the number of dishes they have ordered since everything was yummy.

Super delicious Japanese food. I will highly recommend this place. Great selection of Japanese food options. We tried the Salmon and Tuna sashimi as well as several nigiri options. We will definitely be coming back for more food to try.

Tasty Japanese food with a great ambience and vibes.
A fantastic variety of authentic Japanese dishes here, all efficiently placed into an ipad ordering system at each table. Highly recommend the sashimi, as this will melt in your mouth. Agedashi tofu, udon noodles and okonomiyaki were amazing too. Highly recommend for anyone in the area!

Excellent service good varieties. Love the tablet menu ordering system. You can keep track of where the order is, whether it is still cooking or is served. Authentic Japanese . I used to live in Osaka and this (and only one other Japanese restaurant in Wantirna) is the closest l have found to being the real deal in Melbourne. Forget overpriced, ‘on-trend’ Japanese restaurants that look good on the outside but don’t deliver food from the heart. Nishikian knows what Japanese food really is in look and taste. I haven’t posted photos because, believe me, everything that comes out of this kitchen looks beautiful. Japanese heart and soul food.

I have been coming to Nishikian for several years now with friends and family and it has NEVER disappointed me. This might sound like a bold claim, but it truly is my favourite Izakaya style Japanese Restaurant.

I love how some of their dishes change seasonally as it means there's always something new and fresh to try. Their recipes and ingredients are authentic to the real deal in Japan. The iPad system and robot waiter (who is absolutely adorable by the way) are awesome too, makes everything very easy and efficient when paired with their lovely staff.

I can't recommend the place enough, thank you!

A Japanese owned and run business, with Japanese staffs and chefs.
This is the place we'd go when we need to get our Japanese gourmet food fix.
The place has few new items on the menu (seasonal), and they have a new helper with serving of food.
All in all, always a great experience at Nishikian.

I highly recommend NiShikiAn restaurant and have been a regular customer here for years.

It had a cozy Izakaya vibe and a great menu that often has new or seasonal dishes added. There is a good variety of dishes all freshly made to order. The sushi and sashimi is so fresh and delicious. But I like everything.

The quality of the food is fantastic and it is well priced. The service is friendly and attentive.

I both cook and eat a lot of japanese food and really enjoy this place. I find sitting at the tables looking into the open kitchen is cozy and comfortable.

Please try, you won't be disappointed.

They have a robot cat waiter! And it sings Happy Birthday if there’s a bday celebration happening!
The sashimi and chicken teriyaki was fantastic and reasonably priced.
Highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner.

Delicious and authentic Japanese food. A hidden local gem. I especially enjoy the weekend lunch sets!

Once we worked out menu ordering system on Ipad, all was well. Food was very tasty, lots of dishes to choose from, but come ad hoc so entree or rice might come last, but apart from that can't fault the quality. Slight language difficulty with some staff. Now we know the system we will return. Reasonable prices

Went here for the first time last night and loved the experience. There were lots of young families having dinner which was nice to see. The food was really nice reminded me of my time in Japan. A bonus also for being able to place orders on the tablet. The only thing that people should know is that they don't do split bill.

Satisfying food and quick friendly service. The tablet for ordering dishes made me feel like I am back in the izakaya in Tokyo. Will go back to try other dishes.
