Blue Derby Mountain Bike Trails

Awesome set of trails with the option to have uplifts to a central point (at a cost except for the 1 free ride you get with bike hire at most shops). Even though it's school holidays and the town is crawling with people on bikes there is a serene quietness when you're on the tracks as people get spread out. The green trail up does take some muscle but is still doable for the inexperienced, useful to get used to the bikes before you buy the uplift tickets. Those who are a bit adventurous on a bike can easily graduate from the green trails to intermediate within a day but the berms take practice to get right if you've not ridden them before. Toilets across the road at the council park are excellently maintained as are the tracks themselves by volunteers. Great in the rain when everyone else is away! Trails are very well marked and Derby Tunnel is at the bottom of Deadly Bugga and worth the ride through.

Amazing experience for a entry to intermediate rider. So many good challenges and have grown heaps as a rider from being here! Loved Hazy Days, Flickity Sticks, Turbo Tunnel and Air Ya Goin' Upper! Return to Sender was a proper blue and got me a few times particularly towards to end with exhaustion! Ride it fresh if you're not as experienced. Shout out to Bark off Biking buggy shuttles! Exceptionally fun and great value for money!

Really well cared for MTB trails. Not much green tracks, you can do a loop around the Derby lake which is nice and is basically a mostly flat trail.
You can climb to the top or take a shuttle $15 (2023). Nice spots to see along the trails.

You have to ride Blue Tier, Big Chook, and Atlas. I did it today, and it is remarkable. Fast, flowy, recently groomed, and in the middle of nowhere! Big Chook, especially, is just crazy!

Excellent variety of trails for all levels. Even most Black Diamond trails have a B-line. Locals are friendly and good choice of food and places to hire a bike if needed. Trails are perfect for e-bikes, plenty of up trails. Mtbing couldn't get much better. You'll want to return.

I went I blue derby for one day and I had lots of fun. In that one day I rode a lot of the trails including the double black called detonate. I’m there was less riding then walking but it was still fun. The best trail of all is definitely how ya going with big jumps that are lots of fun. The bike hire is very good. I recommend getting an all day pass for the up down around shuttle up the mountain because it is a long ride up. Over all it was really good an I had lots of fun.

Spent 4 days riding, so many options for all levels and style of rider through amazing bush, views and history. Some tracks were closed due to flooding the previous few days but they were already working on them, very well maintained trails. Book everything in advance, especially in peak season. Recommend the 40km Blue Teir to Derby shuttle/ride stopping at Weldborough Pub half way ... don't be tempted to eat too much though (like a chicken parmi), you will feel it on the second half!!

Wow. What an incredible location for all skill levels. My 9 year old daughter who generally starts a ride in tears is now addicted thanks to these trails.

Even better than expected. Highly recommend. Brilliant trails of all types. Stunning scenery. Fantastic local firms looking after riders' needs. Awesome.

I found this place magic the camping was free and had showers and toilets also the trails were epic not only challenging but beautiful also. The people are very nice and with telstra you can get signal everywhere! Highly recommend to all skill levels of MTB

Absolutely amazing!
The town of Derby provides the life support system for an incredible network of MTB trails, beautifully maintained, suitable for all ages and skill levels.
Epic scenery, pubs, cafes, bike shops, camping areas, showers, toilets etc, etc...
And everyone we met was having a great time. Laid back, no stress, what a fantastic place!

This world renowned mountain bike track is second to none in the Southern hemisphere. It runs through the cool climate rainforest of Derby with challenging downhill runs, crossing creeks and streams. If you're into mountain biking this is a must for the avid biker.

My husband and I came all the way from Seattle, WA, USA to ride at Blue Derby and it was incredible! Wishing I could clone this bike park and bring it home with me. I’d ride here every day if I could. The trails are in excellent condition and running fast. My husband and I are season pass holders at Whistler mtb park and we actually liked the Blue Derby trails more than most of the Whistler trails. Huge thank you to the trail builders and everyone who works to make Blue Derby function. It’s truly a hidden gem tucked away in a very gorgeous part of the world. It’s not everyday you get to ride through rainforest and I felt so lucky to have that experience. We shuttled with Up Down & Around and they were equally fantastic.

This place is something else and definitely lives up to the hype! We could only spare a half day on our trip but we have vowed we are definitely coming back for an extended stay. eBike definitely recommended to keep your legs fresh and allow you to see the best Derby has to offer. The trails are unreal and with scenery to match, it makes for an incredible experience 🤙🏻 #getdownandderby

Awesome trails, a little something for everyone who likes to pedal! Great locals, in a great little town. One of my favourite places to ride in Australia. bike wash facilities, toilets and showers in town!!

Incredible experiences. If you like MTB then this is the place for you. Derby has transformed over the last 5 years as the council has invested heavily in world class MTB trails. This is not to be missed. The town of derby has flourished again with this whole new MTB Mecca status. Great place, local government done right. Get along!!! Edit: this place continues to improve, more private enterprise getting on board, development that has lifted and improved the whole experience. I'm only a casual rider , however it's always a great day/Weekend here.
