Bargain Car Rentals (Launceston)

From the initial booking process, to our collection at the airport and subsequent drop-off after returning our vehicle, the staff at Bargain Car Rentals Launceston were outstanding. Although the rental price was far cheaper than its competitors, I was dubious when I selected this car rental firm, as I had previously only ever booked through Avis or Europcar. However, I have been converted. Their vehicles are top quality, their airport pick-up and drop-off process is very efficient and their office procedures are streamlined to ensure you are not kept waiting too long to commence your holiday. All staff that we interacted with were very friendly, polite and extremely professional. We look forward to booking our next car rental with this company.

Car was easy to drive and use the nav system. Cheap on fuel staff were friendly . The rental process was easy as well. We were glad we had a yellow car was easy to find and spot in carpark. 😊

We gave rented several times from Bargain. We have always had great service. This time was exceptional as the battery on our first car died and we were given a replacement car without any issue at all. Highly recommended.

Very happy with the customer service when we picked up the car at Launceston airport. Shuttle came quickly, staff were friendly, only took a few minutes to do the check-in. Was significantly cheaper than other companies and we got a near new MG SUV. We had no issues and would use again.

Perfect price and nice car. Friendly staffs and very good service. They even wash the car before I rented. Just a reminder, wait at the shuttle bus pick up point. Don’t try to walk to there yourself.

We had a car booked thru a competitor. They turned out absolutely hopeless! We cancelled and rebooked at Bargain.
Not only were they cheaper, they were a good bunch to deal with.
Rental went off without a hitch. We are using Bargain again in march.

Wish I’d gotten the name of the woman working the desk on 15 Oct but she was fantastic! Some of the best customer service I’ve had. She went above and beyond to make my friend and I comfortable and allowed us the time and space to get ourselves organised before getting onto the shuttle. Seriously what a star! At the end of what I’m sure was a long day she was friendly and helpful.

In spite of an issue when we picked up the car, Bargain Car Rentals were prompt, efficient and resolved this issue without delay.

Great service and prices. Cars are new. After using Bargain, I wouldn't go back to the larger car hire places. You getter better value and better service.

Picked up in Hobart and returned to Launceston.

I will rate for 4.5 stars for the vehicle condition but round it up to 5 stars.
They are the cheapest one in the town, good service, fair condition of the vehicle. Can't ask for more, getting a full size SUV around $45 per day. Seems like the car they rent to me was in an accident before the driver door is totally not matching with the car, and cold air can get from the door. Haha
Anythings, we are safe after driving 1200km.

Upon reaching Launceston Airport, I left a voice message at Bargain Car Rentals and a car was promptly sent to pick us up. The rented car, a Nissan XTrailer was in good condition. There was a small incident during my holidays and I managed to speak to somebody from Bargain within reasonable time. The drop off at Hobart Airport was very efficient. I am happy with their pricing as it is indeed cheaper than their competition.

Great place to hire a car. Lovely staff, quick processing and they pick you up at the Airport and drop you back off! Hired a Nissan SUV $50. Cheap prices, Awesome selection of cars, buses, trucks. Highly recommended.

Have utilized just about all the car hire business around Launceston Airport. This is the best both in terms of economy and their staff are absolute gems. From the arrival on a late delayed flight at knock off time to a delayed return my fault. I was treated with respect and humor. Car was as advertised.

Everyone we met at the Launceston depo was friendly, warm and understanding! We had a couple of snafus that could have ruined our holiday--a crack in the windscreen and a personal item accidentally left behind, and every step of the way Bargain Car Rentals were gracious with their support.

I had a beautiful MG with less than 2000kms on it and it drove like a dream. Easy pickup and easy return. It should go without saying that when renting a car in Tasmania you must get the $0 excess insurance as you never know when the poor wildlife will acquaint themselves with your grille or a vehicle in the opposite lane might fling gravel right into your windshield.

Hired a Hyundai Ascent at Launceston airport for under $60 daily for 7 days, and loved the car!

The airport shuttle service was great although I was confused by the instructions on whether I needed to pre-book and where to wait.

Other than that, all good.

We could see Bargain Car Rental cars all over Tasmania, which gave us confidence we are with a major car rental company.

Car ready and waiting for us; smooth handover into the car when we left, and when we brought it back. All pickup/return done over the internet so very easy. Tasmania car hire is crazy expensive, but these guys were pretty competitive on cost.

We didnt find the airport shuttle instructions very easy to follow on their 1300 service, so wasted time wandering around looking for the shuttle bus. If they'd have told us "come out of arrivals, turn right and walk 30m to find the bus" it would have been waaaay simpler.
The actual collection was simple & quick (thanks to their online check in), but there was no instruction of the car controls given. However the car has been great so far.
