Line of Lode Miners Memorial

This is a must visit and see place in Broken Hill. The memorial says a lot of stories about the heritage listed place. The views are spectacular. The sunset is a must if you happen to be around there. Highly recommended

Very nice historical memorial. Stunning sunset and lookout over the town of broken hills.

This place is so quiet & when we went up, there were not even ANY lights on at all. Lucky we have been before and knew where we were going as it was so dark. A beautiful view over Broken Hill. Great experience. I did take a few pics even though it was pitch back. I don't think that they are too bad at all. We will be back up there again in a few weeks.

Looking over the township of Broken Hill is the miners memorial. Broken Hill is a mining town so it’s fitting to have this memorial to miners that have lost their lives. The memorial is accessible via road and foot, and there is parking available at the top. During the hot summer months, it’s probably best to avoid the trek up the hill as it can be quite brutal.

This place is awesome. You can take your dogs for a walk with you to the memorial and lookout. The memorial is very tastefully done with the names of all the miners past and present that passed away due to accidents at the mines as well as cause of death, dates and ages. They are currently building a kind of museum but that's all still under construction. Will be fantastic when it's all finished. The 360 degree view from there is fantastic.

What an awesome memorial and the opportunity to step back in time

The memorial itself is a stunning feature, the lookout from there is spectacular overlooking Broken Hill. (Shame the restaurant there has permanently closed). We were looking for a hot drink as the wind was icy, though no rain.

A moving memorial to those men who gave their lives to help build the wealth of our nation. Some were so young and all suffered in hard and dangerous working conditions.
The visitors centre and outdoor display are still being built, but will be amazing when completed.

This memorial is beautifully designed and encourages thoughts of and respect for the miners who perished doing these extremely hard works of contributing to building our great country. Extensive views over Broken Hill township even highlight further the relevance of this building. A must see for all visitors to Broken Hill.

This place is open 24hrs. free of charge. Great spot for lookout point over the town and to see the sunset.
PS. The cafe part has closed permanently.

Very moving memorial to the workers who lost their lives in the mines in and around Broken Hill. Excellent set up on top of the mullock heap near town and it gives a fantastic view of the town. Highly recommend.

This is a memorial to all the miners who have lost their lives while working in the mines at Broken Hill over almost 140 years since Broken Hill first became a mining town. The views from the top are quite spectacular as well as you can see the whole town from the top. Definitely worth a visit.

Just wonderful view over the whole OE Broken Hill. Also a reminder of the price paid by miners. Wholely recommended and a great place to get some great landscape snaps.

A must see in BH. This town was built by cornishmen and the Welsh. The names on the boards testify to that heritage. Good view and perspective of the slag heap that is known as the lode. Big chair is a bit of fun in what could be a somber place. Cafe is looking for new owners and is closed.

We were lucky enough to have the memorial to ourselves and were the only ones there!! A fantastic memorial which gives a real insight into the dangers of being a miner. The year with the most deaths was 1913 (32). There were no deaths between 2003-2006. The youngest people to die were 12 (1890) and 14 (1886).
