Gundy Pub

Had to find a place to stay on Easter Sunday with a couple of hours notice. I booked the room online and within an hour got a call where they explained by the time I got there the kitchen would be closed. I didn't need food and the person at the other end of the phone said if I needed booze he could deliver it to my room. I didn't need to take him up on the offer but thought it was awesome never the less.

The room was clean and and the caravan park quiet. I had been riding most of the day so that was appreciated.

Thanks Gundy, I'll be back.

This counrty pub is fantastic. Good home cooked generous meals and such friendly service. Do yourself a favour if you're coming through the Fraser Coast and stop in for a drink, meal and chat with the lovely owners. 😊

Absolutely wonderful place for those that want to get away from the busy areas.

Accommodation is affordable and very comfortable.

The pub itself is amazing, the staff are great and the friendly locals make this a great experience and place to be.

I'd highly recommend this place for those travelling or that want somewhere quiet to relax.
I hope to return again at some point during my travels.

We had a gorgeous Mothers day lunch, Thank you so much! Staff were friendly, funny, inviting and did a awesome job! Food was incredible, fresh, generous servings. Live music was great. Pub Dog was my favorite part, she was beautiful! Cute little pub and gardens. Will be coming back soon

Small pub but awesome feeling walking in. The owner was an absolute gentleman. Shame it was at night as I couldn't see outside clearly. Will definitely be going back in daylight hours.

This pub is awesome out of the way quiet not many houses in the area.its and old pub and relaxed. The meals are huge next time I am going for the kids section the staff are friendly and very helpful and the prices are good.well worth the trip out there it's not far off the Bruce highway going north give it a try .😎

Nice country pub with good food. Steak was lovely and serving sizes massive. Stayed the night on our way to an event, basic rooms but lots of camping space.

Unique old pub with a publican to match. He poured our drinks and cooked us a delicious stek sandwich before the crowd arrived.

Had beautiful dinner, even had a candle for romantic touch. My partner had chicken kiev and I opted for the special, sweetlip. Yum yum. Cooked beautifully with awesome salad and chips. Recommended highly!!

A real pub with real people. The Wide Bay is so blessed to have these pubs scattered through it's backroads. Have a steak, have a beer and catch up with everyone. A truly great pub.

We called in for lunch on a recent ride to Hervey Bay. Meals were all great and beer cold

We pulled in for a night and stayed a week at this lovely hotel. Very clean rooms, great food, hot showers, extreme value and absolutely beautiful people running the place. I cannot recommend it highly enough. A great fire to keep you warm whilst enjoying the friendly atmosphere and tasty food.

Great Local Live bands on the 1st Saturday of every month.!!!

They also do exceptional Traditional Chinese! (so good its not available all the time!!)
Maybe try what seafood is fresh off the boat! (Dan has been a Chef all his life and has only the best fresh meat, seafood & produce)
We had a great cpl bits of Parrot fish there 1 day, so fresh! melted in the mouth!! cooked to perfection!!!

Dan the publican is literally Kenny Smyth (Shane Jacobson) from the Movie Kenny.!!!! Very Entertaining👍
Great Australian Hotel with a Great Australian Publican Established in 1868 & I swear there's still many things that are original.!!
Worth dropping in for a feed and drink sometime highly recommend..

P.S. you can't get Caviar.. but im sure a Champagne👍🙂

Prince Alfred Hotel - 'The Gundy Pub' at Gundiah just 10 mins off the Bruce Hwy 40km nth of Gympie. Sample the country charm @ a 1940's pub. Cold beer, good selection of food. Friendly service.

Great pub for an overnighter! Friendly, comfy, good food.

Awesome place my parents have been going there for ages also,e biblical Dan and aud and we love going on sundays

The Gundy pub and caravan park has an old school Bush vibe with surrounding Bush land and fresh water rivers lined with bass and sooty grunter accommodation events bull riding competitions and great feed!

Always a great time at the Gundy especially if you go on their rodeo days! Comfortable donga's out the back or van sites. Nice bush retreat.
