Mavis Kitchen and Cabins

My wife and I went there for lunch, for a special occasion and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Excellent service and friendly atmosphere from the staff from the moment we were greeted by the staff. Sharon who served us couldn’t do enough to make sure we had a pleasurable experience. The food was amazing and was enjoyed even more so with the recommended wines. The amazing produce was all grown in the huge gardens. Well done.

What a find. Booked for Sunday lunch. Great food, Great Service and value for money. The crispy roast potatoes are to die for. Huge bonus is they are dog friendly. More than that, they really welcome your dog downstairs and treat them as part of the booking. If you don’t want to be with the dogs you can eat in the main restaurant upstairs. Thank you to the team for a great lunch and experience.

Can’t recommend this venue more highly! Lunch was beautiful, the view and use of local produce mainly grown in their own gardens. Service particularly by Shaz was second to none. Her knowledge of the menu and wine list made our experience all the better. Thank you for a wonderful anniversary. Make sure you book secret cabin 😻

Anne and i booked in for lunch and did a gorgeous motorcycle ride from the Gold Coast to Mavis Kitchen restaurant Sat Oct 28. The table setting out on the balcony overlooking beautiful mountainous country to Mt Warning was matched by the warm welcome, excellent service and great cheffing experience. Totally recommended. We had a picnic lunch at Mavis’s this morning and we absolutely love the location and how it suits so many of our needs for a young family. The kids love the play equipment and wide open spaces to run. We set up a picnic mat by the lake and explored the creek. The scones with raspberry jam and cream were to die for!!! So nice to have owners of a business who take the time to talk to you. We have been here for many years and will continue to visit this great spot!

Restaurant: This is a must! Didn’t even know about it until was given a recommendation after visiting Murwillumbah. It’s a beautiful easy drive to find. The location is beautiful by the water with freshly mowed lawns. We could take our two dogs and sit outside which was excellent. The food was next level, dips with home made bread, we shared a main of the freshest barramundi and garden salad that felt like it had been freshly picked from the garden. The coffee was delicious. We will be back and brining our friends. Great experience 😃

This was such a surprise during our travels. Wonderful service, excellent food and just a perfect location. The barramundi was perfect as was the lemon, passionfruit tart. Thank you for such a wonderful lunch.

Just returned from a weekend at Mavis' Kitchen. We booked into the Farm House and had lunch on Saturday to celebrate a 60th birthday. The service was excellent and the food was so good, we ordered inhouse dining for our dinner on Sunday night.
We're already planning our next weekend getaway!

Set in a beautiful Queenslander surrounded by sustainable gardens, spreading farm trees and fairy lights Mavis’ Kitchen never disappoints.
On this visit we had the seven course degustation.
We are yet again floored by how well planned the menu is.
How fresh and gorgeous the produce is.
The chef/s handle this food with loving care; producing dishes that are so well balanced and delicious but also beautifully presented.
Also, making pantry items such as one of the best chilli jams that is not just chilli but has a depth of flavour.
The wait staff is friendly and welcoming. They know the menu very well and make us feel like old friends visiting each time we come.
They do a great wine pairing that leaves you under the limit to drive home. Brilliant. And well priced.
We eat out in this region often and there are many excellent restaurants. We are blessed that the standard of food here is so high.
Mavis’ Kitchen’s food, staff and ethos are at the top of the list for us.

This place is an absolute gem.
So beautiful, relaxing and comfy.

We enjoyed a magical anniversary celebration in the cosy and romantic log cabin along with a scrumptiously decadent long lunch and drinks. The service, staff and food exceptional. We also enjoyed a private trip around the organic gardens with the knowledgeable and lovely Jackie, we may even have eaten some delicious tamarillos straight from the tree. The bathroom in the log cabin could do with a bit of love. Thank you team, we will be back!

Mavis' Kitchen is outstanding! The food is so diverse, connected to the local area and divine. The range of beautiful wines and cocktails is fabulous, and the location is stunning, welcoming and peaceful. And my friends and I couldn't speak highly of all of the staff - outstanding customer service in every respect. Thank you, Team Mavis, on ensuring that our lunch was one that we remember fondly for the rest of our lives!

I have been coming to Mavis‘s kitchen once or twice a year for many years now. The food is always superb. Well worth a visit in the drive is fantastic. Investigating the place for a possible wedding venue, looks particularly fantastic for that. Accommodation in the log cabin is rustic charm done right.
