Kitty Somerset

I have been coming here for many years, and after so long my experiences here just keep getting better.
As you walk in past Chesterfield couches and a fireplace, you are greeted at the bar by some of the loveliest and most competent bar staff around. I have never had a bad drink here. Menu drinks are made perfectly, but also bartenders can make you something they think you would like. Memorable experiences include the Agent Orange, and I think the other one was called Run Run Run. The Agent Orange cocktail was like an espresso martini with orange in it. And the Run Run Run cocktail was like a Vietnamese iced coffee and was served with a piece of stroopwaffel, which was delightful - I just wanted the entire biscuit!
The lighting here is really good, not at all confronting. And there is a nice courtyard out the back, and the energy here just seems to encourage great conversations.

Service is great. Amongst the many drinks / cocktails available, there is also a beer tap for those who cannot survive without draft beer :)

Warm, minimal and cosy space. There's also a nice outdoor seating area. Unique and refreshing cocktails. Will come again!

Love the unique and fun cocktails here! Try the one with capsicum - perfectly delicious. I always enjoy a visit to Kitty Somerset with it’s relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Drop in!

Fantastic joint. Great music - they’ve got a fine collection of vinyl. Drinks were all good (fantastic Shiraz), and the person who served us was great and really went out of her way to be helpful. Will be back.

Great place to come on a winters night with your partner for a warm, inviting couple of hours. We entered to sweet soul music playing on the stereo. To the right of the venue you’ll see a roaring fire as walk to the bar. You’re greeted with a smile and a ‘how’s it been going?’

The soul music kept on playing, the fire kept on burning as I wrapped my arm around my loved one on a cold, pandemic winters night.

It was the best night one could ask for. Thanks.

Secretly [or maybe not secretly now] the BEST martini in Melbourne! These guys will tailor a martini to your needs and do it to PERFECTION. On top of that, you can expect great tunes, a phenomenal ambiance, and ultra friendly service. I can't fault Kitty Somerset and this bar makes me proud to be a northsider.

Incredibly friendly staff, exceptionally knowledgeable bartenders skilled in the art of the cocktail & an ever impressive all vinyl soundtrack, Kitty Somerset is a true Northside gem.
Also, they've just realised a brand new cocktail list & as I've worked my way heavily through the previous one I'm even more excited to try the latest takes on the 2021 speakeasy scene.

Excellent find. Great staff who have great knowledge of cocktails (love the old fashioned). The music collection is excellent with no dj or spotify in sight. LPs are played start to finish and depending on the day may be radiohead, calypso, motown, elliott smith. Open fire place. Comfy couches. Enough said.

Bloody love this place. Tommy runs a tight ship. Relaxed, cosy, welcoming, warm, lovely. Great range, even greater suggestions. Tell them how you feeling and they can whip up a bev to match. So many late nights here that are stamped in the 'fondness' memory bank.

Really loved it and will be my place to go in the northern suburbs.

Love this place. Fantastic chilled vibe to wash away the worries. Amazing cocktails if vibe doesnt work. Even better staff if previous stuff fails. Spot on.

Intimate atmosphere and excellent cocktails. The staff is friendly and give good service. Glad we found this place, we definitely plan to be regulars.

Best Tommy's Margarita in Melbourne. I've had lovely chilled out moments and wild nights here. If you're in the area, I'd definitely go check it out.

Awesome bar in Northcote. Great atmosphere and yummy cocktails.

This is an excellent bar in High St Northcote. Closer to the Northcote end than many of the other high st cocktail bars, it is a welcome night cap after catching a gig at Open Studio or 303!

Great little cocktail place. Open late with intimate furniture and lightning. comfortable beer garden at the back, trivial pursuit cards and fireplace in the front

The staff are sooo nice, and the cocktails are die happy. 🥵🍹 RIP me.
