Bargoonga Nganjin, North Fitzroy Library

Beautiful new and fanciful. I've recently relocated and this library thankfully caters to those in need of some help with common food/groceries, so they prepared me a survival bag of some good grub. I know I'll regularly go to this happily vibed common area and strike up some good conversations with my new local neighbours

My favourite library in Melbourne, rooftop and conference room good for group social events and nice place to hang out with wifi and comfy chairs and vibe, also great vegetarian food a few tram stops away and after hour access if in the area at night.

What a great library centrally located in this town. With all modern amenities that you’d expect these days. Nice spaces for kids. Good toilets.
Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Good parking out the front.
Computers available. Meeting rooms available.
Staff are excellent and very helpful.

Our organisation had the IDW there and it was amazing. The staff is so lovely and friendly. The rooftop is incredible. I was also told it is a sustainable building so more points for the place !! 💚💚💚💚

Fantastic modern & friendly Library next to Edinburgh Gardens in the heart of Fitzroy North. Shout out to Tegan who was so welcoming & helpful at explaining how to reserve & check out / return books etc. PLUS there’s the most wonderful rooftop space - perfect as the weather finally improves 📕🌞📘

The study space is very comfortable for study and everyone is respectful

I understand why people dislike the noise factor of the library, but I agree with those who have said it depends on what you are after. Fitzroy library is probably more what the silent studiers are after and it's only 5 minutes tram ride up the road, or 10 minutes and you're at the State Library.

As someone who attended North Fitzroy Primary school and saw the lot as a tiny empty sliver for many years, the library is the perfect meeting space that utilises what many had considered dead space and it's a welcome improvement from the dank, gloomy "library" that preceded it. While I find it hard to tolerate screaming kids during study as much as anyone, it warms my heart that kids are spending their afternoons in such a nurturing, positive and safe space (and what do you expect, you're right next to the school!).

My only negative is that there is not enough of this space to go around! It is busy for a reason and if you are truly desiring a silent room, the private study rooms will suit you well, as long as you are organised enough to book in advance.

The area didn't need another lonely, echoey, sterile hall-type space. This library exemplifies the positive and accessible community connectivity that is so great about libraries.

Lovely place with lots of unique quiet corners and study areas and community meeting rooms. Books, talking books, DVDs and computer games. The rooftop garden is delightful. There are lifts and toilets and drinking fountains. City of Yarra has a desk for paying rates, registering dogs etc.

Great facilities and services, parking an issue or rather lack thereof

Very good place to study as there are multiple little pods for yourself on the second floor. Environment is quiet and peaceful with plenty of nice people around.

I LOVE this libary, my local- right across the street - sunny & bright & theres a roof garden. A great public space & the staff are sweeties.

I'm extremely grateful for the food assistance program they offer in order to help people who might be struggling at any given time..!

I just went to update my laptop, and I discovered they have an outstandingly fast internet connection and plenty of space to do it. A great library.

A awesome place very good for kids a tiny bit noisy but you cant here it much upstairs has lots of good books.

Places for kids, a PS5 for gamers, community computers, rooftop gardens and a large range of books
