Long awaited return to JK after their temporary closure. Menu has been simplified but still has a lot of the Malaysian favourites. Hokkien Mee tasted as delicious as ever and overall great meals.

Hokkien mee taste good like old days. Restaurant has been renovated.

Sambal kangkung js amazing - 6 stars
Hokkien mee - 6 stars

Nasi lemak - sambal is on the Chinese taste bud. But I am not complaining as no one is perfect . I came for hokkien mee and objective achieved.

My first visit tonight and everything was AMAZING. They have a big menu so we'll be coming back many times to try everything. Food, drinks, and dessert were all 10/10 yum and I was so excited to try new food I'd never eaten before. Lovely staff! The decor was so fun, way more interesting than your average beige look. Can't wait to see what comes out of this place :)

I've been coming here since I was a little kid. Love their food. Currently, they are transitioning to the next generation, so the menu is smaller. However, it is still very delicious food. Service is great, but it felt like they did serve us later than people who came later than us because we were a larger group.

Quality and taste. I'm amazed, really love this Malaysian restaurant I visited tonight. To be honest, the food is amazing! When I first went to this restaurant. It was something I became obsessed with. This night was beautiful they had the best seafood in the Melbourne area and it was amazing to find such authentic Malaysian dishes that I can enjoy.

Great little local spot, delivering authentic Malaysian favourites like Char Hor Fun, Char Kway Teow and Laksa just to name a few.

Small and cosy with some big and small tables to cater for different sized groups be warned very popular on the weekends so booking is a must if you are planning to have dinner here.

Takeaway also very easy and painless if you simply want to take home as well. Parking can be a little tough but there is plenty of side streets around to park if needed.

*Update* 3 years on from my initial visit this place is still killing it. With the same high level of quality and high value for money meals Jade Kingdom still remains one of the best in Preston.

Standout dish was definately the Buddha Yam Basket with Cashew Chicken which reminded me of my parents favourite dish to order in Malaysia every big family meal out.

Delicious food, timely service and good value for money.
Took a chance and tried this Asian restaurant based on the great reviews. To our delight, the food was tasty, authentic and served on time.
We ordered the hainanese chicken and Hor fun. The serves were large and very filling.
Well done guys. Surely a place to visit when craving for authentic Malaysian hawker food.
We'll be back for more.

Best Malaysian cuisine - worth travelling half way around the world for. Don't let the modest dining room fool you, every dish is beautifully prepared with fresh ingredients and traditional flavours. Special mentions for the laksa and homemade silken tofu.

We are so excited that Jade Kingdom has reopened after renovations! We love their delicious meals and that they have great gluten free options. We particularly enjoy the Malaysian classics - beef randang, hainanese chicken rice and kangkong. It’s been busy with the reopening as the local community are so excited for you to be back.

Been coming here for over 30 years and the dishes still taste as good as ever. Hands down the best KL style hokkien mee in Melbourne and can even rival some of the ones back in Malaysia.

Amazing, an institution. Recommend supreme laksa, 4 heavenly kings, Hokkein mee. They were flat out because they are fast approaching a 6 month closure but the service was still attentive and friendly.

Jade Kingdom is by far the most authentic Malaysian restaurant in the whole of Melbourne. It tastes and feels just like home the moment you sit down. Affordable and incredibly delicious. Two thumbs and two toes up!

Came here as we passed by the area going to Heidelberg and thought it looks good. We were not disappointed! We are very glad to have found this gem tucked away in a quiet area near La Trobe university.
This is a non pretentious Chinese restaurant serving Malaysian styled food. According to the staff, they have been an establishment in the area for more than 10 years. Service is quick, and efficient. No frills service with minimal chit chat but if you are a regular customer, you will be served with a big smile.
We ordered the hot plate Toufu, fried Malaysian style chicken and sambal Kang Kong.
The star of the night was definitely the hot plate toufu. It was brought to use with an egg on a a hot plate and the waitress poured the meat and toufu stew over the hot plate and it was sizzling in front of us. What a wonderful way to start a meal. The sauce was of the right consistency and the toufu was lightly fried. Delicious! The sambal Kang Kong was very fresh and the sambal was not too spicy which would put off a lot of people who may not take spicy food. The chicken was ok, but I would have preferred if they served the chicken with a bit of salt pepper and lime, or maybe some chicken rice chilli. I liked that when I ordered rice, it came in a big tube. It feels so authentic, and I like that I can self serve the rice I need, instead of calling out to the staff if we need more rice. I like that the restaurant did not skimp on belachan chilli when I asked for it. I could just eat the chili with rice, without any other dishes. The chilli is that good.
I would definitely recommend Jade Kingdom to everyone and I would revisit it again.

One of the best Malaysian eatery in Melbourne. The quality is comparable to top restaurants in SG like Jumbo. The sambal kangkong is super delicious as the sambal paste blends in with the kangkong really well. The crispy chicken is tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. The sizzling hot plate toufu is just heavenly tasty, even better than those I tried in SG. All in all a super place for Malaysia styled food!

I only had a chance to try the Yong Tau Foo Laksa and Wat Tan Hor so far and they were authentic, just the way I like them. The serving is very generous. Parking was a little bit challenging but if you are happy to walk you will find parking down the suburb roads on either side.

This place is iconic. The fish head noodles was sublime and don't get me started on the hokkien noodles, it was as authentic as can be. We've been there a few times now to try the laksa, lobak and chow kuay teow and they were all great. Highly recommended, say hi to Jenny when you're there.

Everything that we ordered were spot on! D and I ordered the Lobak, Marmite ribs, Hakka YTF and lastly Hokkien Mee. As a big Hokkien Mee fan, this is by far the best we ever tasted. They used those classic ingredients in their noodles, with the cabbage, squid, pork lard, fish cake, etc.. very close in taste to the ones back home in PJ. So so excited to find one here in Melbourne!

If you want to try and be on the safe side, just order from their chef’s special menu. You can’t go wrong with that!
