An amazing historical experience. Highly recommend if you are in Ararat you must see. 😊

The tour guide (Alan) was so friendly and knowledgeable. Our kids (6-14yo) really enjoyed hearing all the stories of the inmates and the history of the buildings.

I'm so glad we brought our family here. 😊

Extremely interesting make sure you have plenty of time to experience everything there is to offer, just amazing that it still operated until the 1990's. Great tour guide.

Awesome tour! Sandra and Dave were fantastic guides and provided the group with a lot of information about jwards history and the people it housed.
We got to use investigation equipment and there was a fair bit of activity going on in the group.
Definitely will be back.

Fantastic tour! The guides Sandra and Dave were very informative about the history of Jward and the prisoners who were housed there. They were bubbly and made the night very enjoyable. Got to use some equipment and experienced some paranormal activity too!

Just awesome! The people putting this on are so down to earth and friendly. Had a great time discovering the history of the prison and sleeping in a cell!
We were treated lik adults and trusted to explore by ourselves. Super cool.

Lot of fun and creepy stories

I absolutely LOVED this ghost tour! Our night wasn’t overly active, however I definitely was okay with that! This also will happen with authentic ghost tours. I loved that it didn’t feel forced or fake, just so many interesting facts and stories with the addition of some spirits. I think if you really want to SEE something- take photos! Our guide was lovely and made us feel really safe. My FAVOURITE part of the guide was he put an emphasis on respecting the spirits and their purpose, making sure no one tried to hype them up. I really recommend this tour, even if you just go during the day to learn about how far we have come in the treatment and understand of the mentally ill- it is so important to experience what they had to endure.
I will be coming back again with a friend as I just can’t recommend it enough!

Great tour I had here the other night with my friends, good tour guide people, were friendly and for volunteers, they love there jobs, I thought that was pretty cool, made the night good.

Great tour and the gentleman who guided the tour was fantastic. Very recommended for anyone who would like to know a piece of the history of the area.

Brilliant from start to finish. I like the honesty in which questions were answered. It's sad to see one star reviews based on "something didn't happen to us". I'd rather a tour like that than one with cheap theatrics that make you question the veracity of any experience. Definitely recommend this one if you are really in to the night tours. Unique experience. Our guide was a fantastic person and very friendly. Fascinating to know about the inmates....some of whom had distinct talents. Haunted us until hours after the tour.

Very fun! Hosted by wonderful staff and a great opportunity to learn more about the history!
