Dr Narelle Spence and the team at Heidelberg Eye Clinic provided great care and service in remediating my eye cataracts (resulting from extended chemotherapy). With recent improvements in treatment my eyesight is even better than before (no longer requiring reading glasses) and the process was highly professional and efficient. A shout out also to Manningham Private Hospital and our anaesthetist Dr Paula Laverty who were very professional and provided great care and support through the process as well.

I hadn't been for an eye check up for some time due to COVID lockdowns etc but due to my eyesight deteriorating I made an appointment and was referred to Dr Narelle Spencer who confirmed that I required cataract surgery and also recommended lens implants. After having both eyes completed I am well on my way to having clear vision and very happy with the result. I can highly recommend Dr Spencer, the staff at Heidelberg Eye Clinic who are always professional and helpful, and also the Manningham Private Hospital were I had the surgery. I have not worn sunglasses for years but now my family have purchased 2 new pairs of sunglasses for me for Christmas, so I am looking forward to my new image!

Although apprehensive about having surgery to my eyes, I recently became in need of this intervention as cataracts were causing my vision to deteriorate. I was referred to Heidelberg eye clinic to be assessed for having surgery by Dr. Narelle Spencer. The staff at the centre were thorough in their investigation of my eyes and my vision and the appointment with Dr. Spencer helped to alleviate my nervousness somewhat. I underwent the surgery for each eye with 2 weeks between them and had a "Symphony" lens implanted in each one, being the lens deemed most suited to my requirements. Now, just a month after completion of my surgeries, I am free of wearing spectacles for the first time in over 20 years. I can drive, read a newspaper or novel, use my phone and the computer all without needing to wear glasses and am delighted with the outcome. Thanks to Dr. Spencer and the Heidelberg eye clinic, the world is now literally a brighter place!

Dr Narelle Spencer is a wonderful surgeon and human being. When I visited to ask for her assessment of my cataracts, she stated I was a candidate for lens replacement and that if I went ahead, I should not need glasses thereafter. Having been a patient of Narelle's for a few years, I never doubted that she would deliver on her claim. Following my experience in hospital and having visited her two consulting rooms, I highly endorse the service she and her staff provide.

A wonderful team and Drs and testers were very helpful and polite . One person on reception was rushed one day and was a tad upset at a request but understandable after covid rush plus pressure in any office and next time was the same as usual - friendly and welcoming. The practice is always clean and I noted one tester was kind enough to give a client a cup of tea when asked. The client was an older gent who had seen better times so fantastic welcoming gesture by a very kind empathetic younger man. Terrific to see .

She is caring , thorough and explains things in a clear and precise manner , always taking the time to answer any questions without making you feel rushed . Both my parents have had cataract surgery with Dr Spencer and are extremely happy with the result. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my eyes. Highly recommend.
