Northern Dumpling

I often come to this restaurant for dinner with my friends. Not only is it large in quantity and affordable,but it’s also delicious! Authentic Northeastern cuisine. This time I ate live fish stewed in an iron pot. My favorite was the pot-wrapped pork. Must try it.

We were very surprised of their potions here!!!! Absolutely authentic flavour and portion from north east part of China. Every dish we ordered tonight is a must! The pork potato huge pot is delish and enough for 4ppl to share. The pork ribs are so thick and tender. Also they offer my best guo bao rou ( crispy fried pork sirloin slice with sweet sour sauce). Service is great as well 😊

I had a delightful dining experience at Vegetable Roots Restaurant. Their service was excellent, with friendly and efficient waiters who added to the pleasure of the whole meal. Moreover, the food was really tasty and every dish was satisfying. I particularly enjoyed their dishes. Therefore, I have no hesitation in saying that I will dine here again next time！！

Stoked by the amazing food! Tring out this newly opened restaurant featuring northeastern Chinese food for a night of celebration and it did not disappoint!
We started with their signature iron pot stew with Lamb spine, the pot sits in the middle of the table (simmering on the table) and the portion is generous enough to feed 3-4 adults. They even have a goose option, very rare find in Melbourne.
On the side we ordered noodles with sesame paste, sweet and sour pork and fried croaker. All dishes were cooked and seasoned very well.
6 of us were so full after the iron pot stew and 3 dishes, it was such a shame that we had no room left in the stomach to try out their dessert. We had our eyes on the red bean bun, well, have to be next time.
The spaces between tables are very spacious, and no excessive noise despite it was full house.
The price was also very reasonable.
Well worth the visit and will be coming back again for the stew and red bean bun!

Good food and good service although the front staffs are absolutely flat out on a Friday eve. Long waiting time for the dishes to arrive but worth the wait. I had to cancel one dish because of the wait but will come back again to try.

First time here, everyone was lovely and the servings are HUGE! 2 mains and 2 sides and it would have definitely served at least 4 people so between the two of us we were no match. We ate more than we should have as it was amazing tasting food.

A good choice for Chinese cuisine with reasonable prices. Dumplings and sautéed meat are great but might need to tell the stuff to add less salt in the dishes if not used to exceptionally strong flavor. The service was great as well.The wait staff were friendly and helpful.
