Sounds of the Sea Bread & Breakfast

My husband and I spent two nights at Maxine's beautiful B&B for our wedding anniversary and it was an absolute delight. Located mere minutes from the Port Campbell town centre, it's a good place to explore the twelve apostles, loch ard gorge, grotto, bay of islands, and the rest on the Great Ocean Road. It is also quite close to Timboon - a must for all foodies.
Maxine is a lovely host who is very knowledgeable about the area and will share sound advice that's worth considering. She is helpful and extremely inviting. We were made to feel welcome straight away and it felt like we were visiting a dear friend. With a gorgeous smile and a zest for life, she has some fantastic stories to share but always gives you your privacy.
Also, she is a terrific chef! The cooked breakfast of eggs, toast and the works was divine (there's a continental option too).
The B&B was immaculately clean, comfortable, warm and welcoming. Opening out into the garden, our room was both cosy and spacious.
There was a tea and coffee station in the open plan living area, plus a fireplace and plenty of uber comfy seating options at every turn. Lots of great reading material was at hand too.
The decor is reflective of Maxine's personality and wanderlust.
Some may think that the lack of wi-fi is an inconvenience but we had internet on our phone, not that we used it! We truly immersed ourselves in the experience of blissful simplicity - reconnecting and enjoying each other's company.
We've been on a two week holiday and have stayed at some great locations in Victoria, but Sounds of the Sea has to be our favourite!

Great getaway location with a lovey homely feel. We always head here when travelling through Port Campbell.
