Melba Social - Indian Restaurant ,Bar & Café

We were thrilled to feel the warm atmosphere. The restaurant also had a feeling of quality about it. Everything was very clean and fresh. Table settings were beautiful, simple and well placed. Service was informative, warm and friendly and the food was excellent. Dishes were very tasty and well presented. We enjoyed our evening with everyone at Melba Social restaurant. We will be going there again to experience the friendly staff and wonderful food.👍

A bit late to post but the best food around - was super fresh and loaded with flavour, have been twice now and was very impressed. This restaurant not only puts effort into the great taste of the food but also in the presentation. The staff as well as the owner are very friendly, knowledgeable and more than happy to help. Great customer service and great ambiance. The deserts are another level and not the kind you normally see in an Indian restaurant and yet so affordable. Can’t wait for lockdown to be over so I can travel back to Melbourne for Melba’s delicious food. Highly recommended!

Warm and good vibes. The restaurant is very fresh and clean so I felt all the food tastes are also fresh and nice as well. Nice staffs. All the foods we ordered were very delicious! Incredible service, wonderful food and genuine connection and conversation with the team at Melba Social. The meal was incredible but the whole experience was the real shining star. Casual fine dining is what I said to my partner. It's a friendly, comfortable place to walk into but the service was above and beyond. The food was not only delicious but artistically presented with a wonderful variety of colour and flavours. Make sure you order some naan to clean your plate because you will be tempted to lick the plate if you don't. I loved every moment of it and will be back for sure!

Delicious food and best service possible. Prawn and chicken curry was filled with so many flavours that it filled my taste buds with joy. Lamb cutlet was served with a eggplant purée - eggplant purée is a must try. It was Yumm to the core. Chef explained us about all the dishes served which was very nice of him. Definitely coming back here and highly recommend it. I am sure its going to give tough competition to other modern Indian Restaurants in Melbourne.

Excellent food, service and nice sound-insulated environment. Food made and served with passion. We had the recommended duck croquettes, tandoor lamb cutlets and memorable lemon and myrtle dessert. Would definitely return.

Absolutely delicious. The thing about this restaurant is even though it's authentic Indian, it has this contemporary feel (and taste to it). It's so aesthetically pleasing and the service is next level. Highly recommend and a full 5 * from me.

Just scrolled through my photos of dinner last month and had to post something. Such an amazing night. Dev, Lucky and the team were entertaining knowledgeable and hospitable. Great authentic Indian food. Well worth checking it out and booking in your next dinner soon. We will be back as soon as we can get out of lockdown. Great Indian fusion food in a modern setting for decent prices. Very good service and waitstaff took pains to ensure that the spice levels for dishes were adjusted for us. Really liked the samosas and tandoori chicken!

So wonderful to have great Indian cuisine available in Kensington again. I took my 12yo daughter last week, and visited again last night with my partner (both vego). I had a lamb special - a beautifully cooked and spiced back strap.
And… it’s worth the visit for the desserts alone.

Had the absolute pleasure of being able to host my bridal shower at Melba social’s function space upstairs. The ambience, atmosphere, layout, fit out and styling is 10/10. Staff were lovely, helpful and attentive. All my guests were so impressed with the venue and it played a massive role in creating the perfect day! Will definitely be recommending Melba Social to all family and friends for functions!!

Friendly waitstaff. Good selection of beers on tap. Very tasty curries with perfectly cooked meats. Our garlic naan was particularly satisfying. I enjoyed the aesthetic within the establishment. Compliments to the chefs and owners!

Melba Social is my favourite Indian restaurant in the west. That’s a big call given how many exceptional Indian restaurants we have in the west, but it’s so tasty it deserves the Best in the West title. The food is top notch and the staff are really friendly and provide excellent service. Try the Kerala Macchi curry. I'm slowly working my way though every dish on the menu.

Everything was a 10/10. Service was A+ and the food was just absolutely delicious. Will definitely be back here.

This is an outstanding Indian restaurant. Nestled in a beautiful part of Melbourne’s Kensington, they offer traditional and authentic Indian dishes to a modern palate and restaurant goer! I’m addicted! And so will you be after your first morsel, I guarantee it! I look forward to visiting here often and bringing my friends and family!

Sensational food, great service and an overall fantastic experience, every time we come. Food is presented impeccably - it feels like the relaxed version of fine dining.

The food is incredible. Eating in is lovely, and the flavours are just as mindblowing when ordering takeaway. Generous portions - which means it's good value for money. Easily the best Indian restaurant we have been to in Melbourne!

Great food, nice beer and cocktail selection, central location and very reasonably priced. The italian / pub menu, will suit most of the palates. The place is newly opened, I'd strongly suggest giving it a try, you won't regret it.

Delicious food and excellent service.
Have recently moved to Kensington and will be sure to make Melba Social a regular date night.
