Derby Thai St Kilda

Absolutely fantastic. I ordered fried whole fish, Tom yum soup, clam with chili jam and fish cakes, my food was amazing 🤩 nice set up, the staff were lovely. Will definitely be back!

Our go-to Thai place!!! We’ve followed this place from the little takeaway joint they once had on Grey St to the cozy restaurant they now have on Fitzroy St. Best service and the freshest and most delicious food! It is all so affordable.. we come so often! They also will put our takeaway food orders in our own containers for us, so we can reduce our plastic waste. HEAVEN! We will forever be loyal to Derby Thai! The roti and peanut sauce is to die for.

We are so impressed with the foods at Derby Thai.. it’s authentic and very valuable!!. My favourite dish is Pad See Ew and Tiger prawns fried rice. I have explore in many Thai restaurant in Melbourne and i found the best Thai fried rice that bring back my childhood in here!!. Much recommend if you are looking for the worth money in Thai foods 👌🏻

I was a bit hesitant about finding authentic Thai food in St Kilda, but luckily that was not the case.
The restaurant offers many dishes from traditional Thai cuisine, large portions and affordable prices.
The staff were very welcoming, the food was delicious and served quickly.
The Tom yum soup was excellent and the stir fry with crisp pork done to perfection.
I will definitely be coming back.

I work around this place and I often come to Derby for my lunches. Love the food.
I mostly get the lunch special and they are good with the veggie meat quantity.
It’s a perfect meal and the options are wide.
Overall my go to place and wouldn’t want to change that. Such friendly staff.

The food here is soooo yummy and tasty and it’s very wallet friendly as well. It’s a nice and cosy restaurant to eat in alone, as a couple or even with friends. There’s a fairly good range of curries (which are so good!) and other dishes (that are also very good!). I would strongly suggest people to come in and eat here! Staff if also very lovely. I come here at least every fortnight either by myself or with my partner.

It's nice to know that I will for sure have a delicious lunch ordering from Derby Thai St Kilda. I especially appreciate how helpful and accommodating the staff and the Chef are. The DELICIOUS TOOTHFISH ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐lives up to it's name 💯- consistently arrived on time, well-packed, and masterfully cooked adjusted to my request. Worth trying once for steam fish lovers and you be the judge

My go-to place every time I crave Pad Thai or Pad See Ew. Their menu offers great selection of delicious dishes. Service is quick and staff are friendly. I would suggest checking your food for takeaway though as sometimes they do forget stuff in a big order.
Also if you’d like to order curry for 1, I would recommend the lunch combo which includes both rice and curry instead of ordering them separately.

The food is amazing the favours fresh and spot on the Prawn and peppercorn dish was so positively unexpected WOW took a seperate photo (my photos don’t do any of the dishes justice). The pork belly salad so fresh yet decadent. The prices are reasonable, this quality elsewhere would cost 40% more. The roti and peanut sauce was a better serve and great taste yet 1/2 the price of others nearby!
The place was busy with dine in and deliveries and COVID requirements being practised.

Yummy food, & absolutely spectacular service from Didi, hard working, gorgeous smile & lovely attitude, she read everything back to me before putting the order through, she went out of her way to check that my vegan dish would be cooked in a freshly washed pan, & when the EFTPOS was being slow she told me to take a seat & walked all the way around to me to try again, & gave me the receipt showing the previous attempt had failed.

I have followed this Thai restaurant from Derby Street coffee olds next to the racecourse. And over 20 years it has just got better and better and better for better. Great luxurious deck out as well as positioning on the street prices are great kitchen is fast friendly and absolutely gorgeous for tasty

This Derby Thai is much bigger than the original outlet in Caulfield. It is more like a Bistro. The food is pretty good especially the Larb Gai. I would come back more often, great dining experience! Your food is served in big plates and sit in a nice restaurant!!!

Best Thai food in St. Kilda, they now have the looks of a modern upmarket restaurant in their new place. Value for money, generous serving and fresh food. They are now a fully licensed restaurant, BYO is accepted as well. If you are in a mood to eat Thai and are around about St. Kilda go there and dine.

Was craving some affordable, but decent Thai food on a rainy day and this did not disappoint! The Tom yum was surprisingly good for the price point ($10; food in Australia is so expensive…). The fish cakes looked small, but they compensated in taste; really fragrant! I also ordered the pad thai, which was worth the price. Definitely one of the most affordable options in the are!

A friend said this place is the best Thai food in the area. Maybe, she’s right. It was my first Thai cuisine experience. So far so good (especially loved roti and ice cream with banana sticks)

Underrated imo, tasty and delicious, no onion or garlic wasn’t a problem for most dishes, they have a decent vegan menu just ask for it as its not on the table

Consistently amazing service & food & value. Seafood everything a highlight. As a local I’ve eaten at just about every restaurant in St Kilda and this is the one I return to. Wonderful

Great food, morning glory bit too salty for my liking. However the rest are fantastic. Staff are super friendly and service always excellent. Good place to have a relax meal with friends or family without costing a bomb.
