Southern Ocean Motor Inn

Excellent location. Friendly service. Room clean and comfortable. Very poor internet and reception from our room but that didn't bother us. TV hard to use and it had been changed to Chinese so we couldn't understand writing. Good to have time out from technology though. The fridge was a bit noisy throughout the night and kept me awake. We did enjoy our stay though.

We booked ocean view room. It's great. This hotel is in front of the ocean and close to jetty. Restaurants is in walking distance. Can self checkin and checkout

It's a great place to stay while traveling on the Great Ocean Road. It was nice because the neighborhood was quiet, cozy and comfortable

Delightful shutters on the windows made the room feel nautical. Comfortable bed. Hot shower, tea and coffee ☕ available. Lovely views to the bay as you drive in and huge Norfolk Island pines along the road.

I and my friends stayed here for a night. We booked family room which is big enough for four of us. The room is clean and provide everything you may need. The check-in and check-out is also convenient. We had a nice stay here.

My mum and I stopped here on a whim and Liam was able to help us out immediately. Room was clean and comfortable and generally fairly quiet. Excellent location with beautiful views of the beach, especially at sunset. Space for kids to run around and BBQs available for use. Thanks for a great stay!

This is an awesome place to stay in for our 2nd night along the Great Ocean Road trip. The location is fantastic and visitors can take a stroll along the coast to see the amazing view! A lot bunnies jumping around during the evening times.

The receptionist (not sure if he the owner of the inn) is an amazing and friendly person! 😉

The room is clean and cosy environment! Will book this place again if I ever visit Port Campbell again. Highly recommended! 👍

Great location very close to the centre of town and local beach. The 12 apostles and other sights are within 10-15 mins drive from here. The motel itself is facing the bay and you'll get a good view from your room. There is free parking but I think it's not enough for all the units. Amenities were good, I would suggest to have a stove or hot plate available in each unit for guest to do some simple cooking. There's also tables at middle of the place where you can have your meal while looking at the bay.

Overall, good value for money and good place to stay when you're in Port Campbell.

This is an amazing place to stay here in Port Campbell. Ask n pay to stay in Room 1 is worth it. The room is way bigger n more better that any hotel or motel room and right by the water. You can sit in Rm 1 and look at the waves with people surfing. The closest rm to the water n the view is magnificent. Bed, sheets etc is very clean n comfy. Bathroom is huge n shower glass box is X3L very big. Fridge, microwave, rice cooker, etc, n dishes. Lots of restaurants in distance walk around to pick from very close. There are lots to explore n see here. We love everything. N can just sit at the beach and watch the sunset 😍

Small but beautiful beach ... uniquely scenic ... complete with beach, waves, seagull, rabbits ....

Great little motel. Simple but all you need

The location is perfect and quiet. Minutes walk from great local restaurants for you to choose from. Or go for a walk along the bay. The room itself is clean. I went with friends and the room was split into two rooms one was in the inner part with three beds while the outer part has two. One person had to sleep right next to the door but it wasn't an issue. The other had to sleep near the small corridor that linked the rooms which would be an issue if you can't sleep with the lights on since that you will be disturbed when people use the toilet. The room had crockery, microwave and electric pot. The heating system was good, the bathroom didn't have a lock but wasn't the problem. All necessities were well provided. Overall great value and will recommend.

My partner and I were driving to NSW from Perth. We were looking for a place to stay and we were going to check in late.

The owner was super accommodating. Waited for us to arrive, gave us the keys. The view is absolutely amazing 🤩 The best accomdation the whole trip. It's a place I'll never forget and want to visit again! It's definitely a hidden gem.

We are traveller from Thailand, planned to drive along the great ocean road and stay at Port Cambell.

Last 6 months we decided to stay at this hotel for the first time in Port Cambell while travelling to 12 Apostles and serveral lookout.

We regret to stay just 1 night because the view from my room #1 was unlike any other hotel. The window view could clearly see the beach and in front of windows there was so many cute rabbits. If anyone have a chance to stay at Port Cambell, you should try staying at Southern Ocean Motor Inn.

Just the beginning of this December (2022), we revisit Southern Ocean Motor Inn to spend more time. This visit we stayed 4 nights to make sure we could have enough time for shady atmosphere. We spent most of the day at the hotel, restaurants in Port Cambell and Lookouts.

We had been guided interesting places from the managers of the hotel. The both managers are very friendly and kindness.

The room was spacious, neat & clean and the location was great too. Ample toiletries provided, check-in and check-out was smooth. Will definitely return in the near future.

Clean and tidy place with a beautiful sea view. Spacious car parking area. Very close to 12 Apostles and a great location to stay with your family.

Stayed here for an evening while roadtripping from Melbourne to Adelaide via the Great Ocean Road. Didn't have a booking in advance and we stayed a bit too long at the 12 Apostles watching the penguins and realized it was getting dark and we had no place to stay. We approached the motel and rang up the reception - and the staff was incredibly helpful getting us sorted out for the evening despite it being pretty late in the evening and he was about to head to bed.

Compared to 'inns' and 'motels' in the US, the Southern Ocean Motor Inn was incredibly clean and just by the jetty - so it was so cool to be so close to the water (which we didn't see when we got in since it was late at night). Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Good sized rooms, great location within town, comfy beds, easy check in and out. Would stay here again if coming through Port Campbell.

Really happy with it. The room was clean & tidy. Close to shops & we had the sea view. Very comfortable stay with a very reasonable price. I guess you need to book in early to get the best rate.

One of the best motel beds I've ever slept in. The room was a good size and the bathroom was excellent. The room came with a fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, air conditioning, 40 inch tv, tea, coffee, milk and free wifi. The staff was friendly and helpful.
If we ever come back to Port Campbell, we will stay here again.
