A special thanks to the Manager Elisa who was so informative and really new the product range and all the details, truly helping us make the best decisions on the products we bought. On top of being extremely helpful, she provided amazing and attentive customer service.

Bought some quality steak knives today. The lady who served me was lovely. No problems there.

Bought a couple of frypans a few months ago. They didnt quite perform the way we expected so went back today. Trish helped us and was very understanding. Spent a lot of time giving opinion of her personal use at home and eventually we exchanged them for two different pans (as well as buying a few other things) Cannot talk highly enough of Trish. She was fantastic. So if you are heading to House Nunawading, go on a weekend when she works. You wont be disappointed.

Sale prices were great! Lots of quality items and the staff there were absolutely fantastic.

Good Range. Tidy shop with space to move around and very helpful staff.

Stock and prices seem fair however it's December 1st and the gentleman working here is already clearly p.o with customers in general. Working in retail over the Christmas season can be tough even if you love working in customer service. Poor blokes gonna have a rough month ahead.

Unhelpful and angry manager and staff!!

I bought 12 of spoons (tea and soup), forks, and knifes couple of weeks ago from House-Nanowading. The girl who I bought these stuff said I can put them in the washing machine. When I washed them, I saw corrosion in some of them. I went to their store on 26.01.2023 to return all of them. However, the woman said I can't do anything since my manager is not here (even exchange!). She wasn't helpful. I went to another House store in Brand smart. Sherri tried to help me however, she couldn't. I was in Nanowanding yesterday again to talk
to Elisa, the store manager. She said you should open the door of washing machine otherwise the corrosion will happen! I said your employee didn't say it to me. Elisa said because she was here due to short staff! I said we usually open the door and Elisa said you can say everything how can I trust to you?!?!? (Rude manager) no-one told me this instruction!
Elisia said I never had any complaint about these stuff and I also have them!
Couple of question:
If you never had this issue before, how do you know that it happened to me because I didn't open the door?
And also, why you didn't provide this important instruction to us when we wanted to buy?

She was too angry and even she wasn't to give us voucher!
I've bought many things from this shop and never had this experience! I wish I could give zero star!

DO NOT GET SCAMMED!!! Do not go to these chain of stores, they sell second hand items as brand new. If the items are faulty good lucky trying to get anything done about it, after 2 weeks and multiple trips to the store all they could offer was a store credit, which is illegal and thats why I'm reporting them to ACCC, save your time and money and literally go anywhere else besides these place

Poor Service. Went in and was told they wouldn't do a refund onto a gift card (even though i had a receipt) and the cashier person was super rude about it. Also appears that House is only really stocking Baccarat which is their own home brand and they likely get a lot larger margin off selling these poorly made home-ware.

The Baccarat Knives are bad, soft steel (japanese steel means nothing if you use the cheapest type which is barely even classed as knife steel hence the very low hardness level at around 52). Good knives (although not the only thing to rate it against) should be atleast 56+ in terms of HRC or Rockwell hardness, which means they retain a edge for a lot longer. For the same price as what they were charging the knives for, you could easily get the same one with Global or Shun. Not to mention wow, their craftsmanship on the knives are pretty poor, i viewed a few that was on display and the edge geometry and grind was uneven and poor.

Not to mention last time i made a order it took almost 1 month to arrive. Will never shop there again unless they start stocking the good stuff for a good price.

If you want to shop at a place which reminds you of what House used to be, try Matchbox, Victoria Basement, Peters of Kensington. They actually stock the good stuff, not the "pretend good stuff".

Staff unhelpful. There was an older lady in the store who was very rude. When I asked her for help she said she was serving someone. Even when she was free didn't care to come and help. I wanted to buy stuff but didn't because of her attitude. There are numerous house stuff shops I rather buy from there!

My wife and I went there on Sunday morning, my wife said good morning ( less than one mtr away) no response, picked up a couple of items, intending to buy, walked close to the counter where the lady was standing ( not busy, we were the only 2 in the shop) this lady never looked up or say , anything you looking for or can I help you, happy Easter, just nothing, so we put the items back and walked out the store, don’t hire this lady to look after your business, no wonder the store is like it is with this lady in charge

Tried buying something today, they got the wrong price for the item at the register got them to check the display - realised it was their mistake, corrected it and finished off by suggesting to me that they don't accept cash as payment so I walked off.
