Harcourt is on the land of Dja Dja Wurrung traditional owners.
The cemetery was established in 1870, and has a pair of monumental stone gates made in 1935.
Parking is on the side of the dirt road out front. The yard is on an incline and has a central paved road and unpaved pathways but shouldn't present too much difficulty for people with limited mobility. There are no facilities and no drinking water or shade, but there is seating and rubbish bins provided. On the left is a lawn section with modern burials and on the right are mostly historical graves, segregated by denomination. Many of the older graves are still in good condition and readable. There are some good examples of C19th iron work.
