Interesting museum and information centre. Sat and had a cup of tea with Dave, the volunteer who looks after the place.
Learn about the construction of the tower, and now the efforts to save Queensland’s tallest fire tower after it became redundant to modern technology. Take care.. stock seen wandering around on the side of the road and fresh roadkill on the road up the valley

Beautiful Site To See Even When It's Not Accessible Due To Safety Concerns Right Now, As It's Way To Dangerous To Climb Until It's Been Refurbished & Sturdy Enough To Climb All The Way To The Top Of The Fire Tower Again. I Was Lucky Enough To Be Able To Climb All The Way To The Top Of The Tower Before It Became To Unstable & Access Was Closed To The Public. The Site's You Get To Experience When Your At The Top Is So Serene, Beautiful & Very Peaceful. We Had A Petition Going For Years To Try & Save The Jimna Fire Tower From Being Demolished & Thousands Of People Signed The Petition To Save The Tower Because Like The Rest Of Us Here In Jimna, They All Believed That The Fire Tower Means Alot More To Us & In The History Of Jimna & It'll Mean Alot More In The Future If It Gets Refurbished So People Can Climb It Again, Bring More Tourism Back To Jimna To Keep Our Town Alive. It Really Is The Most Beautiful Thing You've Ever Seen When Your Up There. After Years Of Fighting Tirelessly & Constant To Save The Jimna Fire Tower, We Did It & Got Approved Government Funding Towards Having The Fire Tower Refurbished So People Can Climb & Enjoy It Again. Only To Be Absolutely Devastated When We Found Out By Reading Our Local Paper One Day, That Without Even Being Told Or Given A Reason Why? That Deb Franklin Had Pulled The Government Funding That Was Allocated To The Jimna Fire Tower & Then Put It Towards Fixing Up Another Old Fire Tower In The Middle Of The Bush, That Isn't Even Accessible By Road, Car, Bike Or Walking For Most People, That People Don't Go To See Because Not Many People Know About The Tower Being There, That Our Allocated Funding By The Government To Save The Jimna Fire Tower Was Taken Away & We Still Haven't Been Given A Reason For It & It's Absolutely Devastating & Unfair In Every Meaning Of The Word To Our Whole Community

The Information Centre/Control Centre is now a museum and basic cafe at 4 Currawong St, Jimna QLD 4515. The tower itself, based on timber supports, is permanently closed as too dangerous to climb. There is a vigorous campaign to save the local landmark but without significant funds, it's likely that the tower itself will be condemned. It's a nice spot to fly a drone and get some good photos but beware the crows who have constructed nests on the tower - your drone will be under constant attack while you're within 100m of the tower.

Be great if the qld gov would hurry up and fix it up and re open it to the public. Fantastic piece of Qld heritage and history.

The tower is off limits until it's decided whether or not refurbish or not
