Bundanoon Hotel

One of the best, if not the best, Pub in the Southern Highlands. Food, drink, atmosphere, and service is great. Sitting in the beer garden in the afternoon on the weekend, with live music, is a sublime experience. It's got that old English or Scottish friendly pub vibe about it.

Our experience with the Bundanoon hotel was outstanding! More than 100 of our family and friends stayed in the hotel for a wedding over 4 days (and scores more popped in and out) and enjoyed the most delicious restaurant food, the friendliest and most accommodating staff, and were all charmed by their experience. A big shout out to head-chef Ben who created a wedding menu our guests were raving about; and Shah and Mark who were so warm, welcoming and helpful. The rest of the staff were also wonderful and made the wedding weekend one to remember. The hotel rooms are quaint, the grounds lovely and we would highly recommend the hotel for an occasion.

First time and blown away with the service and quality of this hotel. Staff went above and beyond several times in our short time there. Restaurant is amazing (and easy to see why), very popular so make a reservation. Thank you so much to the manager who quick fixed any issues we had, we will be back!!

The Bundanoon hotel, is such a pleasant stay for me, the beds are super comfortable, (so comfortable, how can you not sleep in?!) The staff are always so lovely and do so much, amazing hard workers and they're all just so lovely to chat to and are helpful, and even at times, when my anxiety has been bad when I wake in the morning, with checking out, it was okay for me to check out slightly late and it means a lot, not just to have this accommodation when I'm in the Southern Highlands, but to be accommodated for my conditions, and it's just truly beautiful to me. Bundanoon hotel, this is commendable. Thank you.
It's also so lovely, that you can store your stuff, if you have just arrived or are too early, and they just in general, make Bundanoon, so relaxing and fun to visit. And did I mention the food?! The food is amazing and so good and just yeah, wonderful staff and the live music is so great to chill to and it's great to support artists, how they do!! 🥰
I could say so much more, but this place has such a history and the best way to feel the history?! Visit the town and stay a night or two!!

We went down memory lane this week and revisited the Bundanoon Hotel after many years. We were happily surprised to that part of the hotel had been upgraded and part still has the old world charm of yesteryear.
Staff were friendly & accommodating. Rooms very clean, linen fresh & crisp and towels soft & white. Dinner was delightful and we thoroughly enjoyed oue stay.

I regularily stay here, i LOVE this place. The staff as so very nice and nothing is too much trouble. The bed is comfy, a more detailed clean of the bathroom would be nice and perhaps a TV!

Restaurant for dinner. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. The food was delicious and generous. Speedy service, considering the number of patrons. Cheers.

Went here for a meal and found all selections chosen absolutely delicious. All servings quite large, so do not order entrees if you are not a big eater. Service prompt and efficient. Meals cooked perfectly and take away packet supplied if unable to eat meal. Ambience great but would recommend booking a table as very busy. The only negative i could give would be that the main meal followed the entrees too quickly so maybe ask for a delay. Would definitely eat here again and do recommend this place highly to people looking for somewhere to eat. Unable to comment on accommodation as did not stay. Hotel very close to railway stn, has a carpark as well as street parking both sides of rail line

Food at the Bistrot was fabulous. Great menu with a good mix of classic pub favourites and more modern dishes, food was delicious, drinks menu extensive, and service was great.

We can only speak about the pub…and what I have to say is that the service was excellent and so was the food. The prices were fair - meaning good- for the quality in my opinion ! I love the old hotel and would love to stay there some time too. It really has the feel of an old Scottish inn.

We came for lunch and the food and service were really excellent. Something for everyone on the menu and the portions are very generous. Highly recommended .

Live music, great outdoor space, and the food was outstanding. One of the best Pubs in NSW.

We had a birthday dinner for our daughter’s 9th birthday and the food was delicious and a great range but what impressed us even more was the great attitudes on everyone we met that was working. Right down to organising candles for the cake, singing happy birthday to our girl, the smiles and just the friendly nature of everyone. As locals we will continue to support the hotel because of this! 😊😊

Very clean comfy warm beds spotless amenities 2 nights 👍 great rate lots of restored fresh room's but keeping tariff moderate will bring volume business or more bookings upping the tariffs has the opposite effect Management note well

Had an amazing weekend away in Bundanoon. Had 40 friends come and stay and the Hotel staff could not be more friendly, efficient and all our needs (us more) were accommodated!
The rooms were beautifully renovated and the mattresses very comfortable!
Highly recommend this venue for a weekend away to dinner or drinks!

Stayed Saturday night in a family ensuite room. Room was nice neat and warm. Shower was hot and beds comfy. Had dinner and breakfast. Both excellent. Service was excellent. Great old pub in a beautiful village. Great value. Great place for Southern Highlands base for bushwalking, mountain bike riding, Saturday night stop for weekend motorcycle ride. Good for groups. As for the negative reviews I think some people miss the point. It's a pub next to a train line in a village. If you want ultimate luxury and quiet go and stay at the plethora of big name hotels for 4 times the price and zero charm and atmosphere. I for one loved the experience.

Ate lunch here for the first time today, lovely atmosphere, staff lovely as was the service. The food really good. My only issue was the Greek salad was listed as a side dish, but was a much bigger serving size than a side dish and I would have ordered just that on its own.

If I imagine taking the train to a quaint friendly pub accommodation in the highlands a hundred years ago, this place came the closest to that romantic ideal. Several bars and eateries from the down to earth Aussie pub, to a tree-shaded lighted beer garden with live music, and fine dining. Even a pool and tennis. Plenty of space for functions too, including our running club’s this weekend. Within 2k is a glow worm viewing platform, and 4km away are grand-canyon vistas to the valley 600m below. Railway station, shops and a pleasant park are a short walk away. A great find.

We booked into the Bundanoon Hotel and were utterly delighted with the entire experience. The beautiful old building enchants visitors with heritage bedrooms and charming restored bistro. Both the food (we had two incredible seafood pastas) and the service from Shan and Rory were amazing and made us feel right at home.
Highly recommend to stay if you’re ever in the area.

There was a very large group of us which was not normal for this Hotel. But they were amazing! We all got our meals in a good time. They were friendly and happy to accommodate us. Will definitely go again!
