Woodland Studio Exeter

Such a beautiful location in Exeter. We wanted a restful break from the city and that is what we got. The cottage is beautifully put together with the most comfortable beds. We sat drinking our coffee while looking out the garden from our windows. The hosts were also lovely and invited us to fee the sheep and alpacas - this was a great experience. We would stay again when in the area. Thank your for making our stay such a fun and relaxing experience.

We had a lovely 2 week stay at Woodlands. With all the amenities (ie fridge, microwave washer, dryer etc) together with their beautiful property (available for walks) and visits to their sheep farm it was vastly better than staying in a hotel. Margot and Phil are both charming and friendly. Next time we come to Australia we would definitely apply to Woodlands!

Woodland Studio Exeter feels to me like a home away from home. I have visited three times (2020, 2022,2023).
The first two times with my husband and two primary aged children who enjoyed the animals, searching for yabbies in the dam, kangaroo spotting, feeding the sheep and riding their bikes around the property. Margot and Phil have a beautiful property and the studio is a stylish space which had plenty of room for all of us. There were little playful touches in the bedrooms for the kids which they enjoyed. Margot and Phil made us feel free to explore the farm and took delight in the joy we experienced there. We also went bushwalking in the Morton National Park and enjoyed the family friendly Sutton Forest Pub for dinner. Our second visit was like returning to old friends or family. We love the little Exeter General store and Bundanoon is a gorgeous village out of the busyness of the larger nearby towns of Moss Vale and Bowral.
I have also visited recently (2023) for a third time for a weekend away with a girlfriend for our birthdays. Once again we were warmly welcomed and enjoyed a beautiful breakfast hamper. The weather was a bit gloomy and wet for bushwalks however there are so many lovely villages nearby to visit we did the rounds of Bundanoon, Exeter, Moss Vale and over to Bowral. There are so many gorgeous stores in all of these places and lovely places to eat. We headed over to Berrima markets on the Sunday and a little wander around this historic town before heading home.
Even just sitting in playing games with a glass of wine on a gloomy day is lovely as the large windows in the studio allow you to watch the rabbits hop around the property and enjoy the scenery of this beautiful property.

We had an amazing time at Woodland Studio- the studio was beautiful, stylish and so well thought through. Our little one loved spending time going on the tractor to feed Audrey the alpaca and the resident sheep. Margot and Phil were so accomodating and very responsive, and even gave us a voucher for the beautiful local General Store which was such a nice touch. We will definitely be back!

I just spent a most restorative weekend with my family at Margot and Phil's absolutely beautiful Woodland Studio. Margot and Phil are such lovely, welcoming ,personable hosts,who left some yummy goodies for us as well as showing us around their property along with their sheep and Audrey the Alpaca! The studio,which is located just out of a quiet ,pretty village is stunning with no luxury spared- so comfortable with top quality fittings ,linen etc. There are so many beautiful towns in the area and places to visit,lots to do if you want to leave the studio. It was hard to leave and certainly everything there makes me want to return!!

We have just spent a couple of nights and days at the studio ‘Woodlands Farm.’ We took two of our grandchildren both aged 4. Although we had very cold winds and the daily temperature was definitely not normal for November even in the highlands, it was still a wonderful experience. Taking two suburban kids to a 25acre backyard was something they hadn’t experienced before, we donned our puffer jackets and walked through the woodlands to visit the resident Suffolk sheep with their cute black faces and the adorable spring lambs all watched over by their matriarch Audrey .. the alpaca.
To escape our busy lives for a couple of days of peace and tranquility, woodlands was perfect.
The Studio.. accommodation was gorgeous, spotlessly clean, the beds were so comfortable we all slept well.
The little ones turned their bedroom and lounge room area into a cubby using every cushion and throw blankets they could find, a great set up to have a second area for them to play happily…
Breakfast provisions and thoughtful extras awaited us.
Lunch and dinner was easy as their are so many local eateries and with little ones that was important.

Most importantly Margot was a wonderful host, made us very welcome to her home.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at Woodlands Studio. It is superior accommodation with everything you need: lots of space, very comfortable beds and sofas, a walk-in shower with copious hot water, a well-equipped kitchenette and more. The farm is on a gentle slope in a beautiful and quiet location. On the first morning, the Suffolk sheep, with their spring lambs, along with Audrey the alpaca, were in the top paddock adjacent to the enclosed backyard, to greet us. The breakfast supplies were delicious. Our adult daughter used the second bedroom and appreciated her private sitting room; her toy cavoodle enjoyed chasing rabbits! Margot and Phil are delightful and helpful hosts.

The Studio was perfect and Margot was a gracious and lovely host. We were in town for a wedding nearby with our toddler and the Studio was great. It was clean, comfortable and very well looked after. We enjoyed our stay and having the chance to feed the sheep and explore the property as well was an extra bonus. We will be back!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Woodland Studio and wow - it is just beautiful! Such an amazing space on a gorgeous farm, we even got to meet the resident sheep and alpaca.

It was so comfortable, private, roomy and well appointed. Waking up to sunshine coming through the skylight was a highlight of the stay.

Margot and Phil are very accomodating hosts and provided fantastic recommendations of what to see and do whilst in the area. We left feeling rejuvenated from our stay and would highly recommend the space.

Very lucky to find this place. Located on a quiet road but close to all necessary convenience.

The rooms are spacious, comfortable with all amenities one could think of and very beautifully decorated. Margot and Phil put a lot of thoughts into it. They are among the nicest couples I have ever met.

Riding on ATV, feeding sheep, meeting the resident/guard Alpaca Audrey, taking long walks on the green paddocks.Lots of activities to keep the kid and the dog busy. Highly recommend this place.

Fabulous accommodation. Total privacy. Incredible host with plenty of goodies for breakfast. Peaceful and tranquil lots of sunshine coming through the windows to warm you up on a cold winter's day. We enjoyed feeding the sheep and chatting with Audrey. BBQ dinners and lots to explore. A truly great stay.

A wonderful getaway in beautiful Exeter. Comfortable and immaculate studio and sheep to feed that kids love. Lovely and very helpful host where nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend.

My family enjoyed a lovely long weekend at the Woodland Studio! My two young children especially had a fantastic time seeing and feeding the sheep and alpaca, exploring the grounds and watching the rosellas and ducks.

The Woodland Studio is beautifully furnished and we loved all the little special touches such as the soft toy sheep, outside games and board games available, marimekko decor, native flowers and the delicious fresh produce provided. Everything is very cosy and of high quality. The backyard is also fenced and perfect for my dog (and kids) to run around.

It's perfectly located in a quiet street but still very close to nearby towns so it was easy to explore and visit lots of places.

Margot and Phil were such friendly and wonderful hosts and we can't wait to come back! Highly recommended.

We returned for our 3rd visit to Woodland Farm and it was wonderful! Lovely hosts, beautiful and very comfortable accomodation and we loved seeing the animals and exploring nature. Biggest highlights especially for the kids were bottle feeding the lambs and the tractor ride!

The best family-friendly farm stay in Southern Highlands. The cottage is very cosy and has everything you need. The hosts are amazing.
