We bought what was to us an attractive 90’s vintage house in Bundanoon in late 2023. We had a pre-purchase inspection that revealed a number of relatively minor problems that we mostly had fixed prior to settlement and we moved in thinking the house was in reasonable condition. As it turned out the house had serious problems like inadequate sub-floor support bearers and joists, concealed problems with the slate flooring, and a complete absence of roof and ceiling insulation in a large part of the house. We now think that pre-purchase inspection is so full of caveats and exclusions as to be near worthless, and certainly not good value for money. We had noticed building renovation work being done in Moss Vale by Ken Longshaw and we appointed him as our builder to fix up our new house. Six months later our renovations are complete and we are now comfortable. It hasn’t been easy, in fact it has been downright difficult and uncomfortable living with the noise and dust of renovation on a daily basis. The good news is that Ken has been obliging and considerate at all times and his tradesmen have been very good, especially his champion tiler Paul Connolly who as well as doing perfect work contributed wonderful aesthetic advice. We are very happy to recommend Ken Longshaw to anyone, and we felt confident with his financial management at all times. There was never a hassle with invoices.
