I recently had the pleasure of dining at Paradise Cafe Lower Portland, and the experience was nothing short of sensational. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the owner, OZ, who went above and beyond to ensure my stay was not just pleasant but truly exceptional. OZ's genuine Australian hospitality is unparalleled, making him a standout figure in hospitality. His warmth and kindness made me feel welcome throughout my visit.

The staff and patrons alike added to the charm of the place, creating an atmosphere that felt like a community. OZ's friends and staff exhibited perfection in their roles, contributing to the overall positive vibe of the cafe. The locals were notably warm and friendly, further enhancing the sense of camaraderie.

What struck me the most were the incredible stories and historic moments shared at the cafe. Learning about the challenges faced, especially during recent floods, brought tears to my eyes. OZ's selfless nature, caring more about others than himself, truly makes him a fair dinkum bloke—a genuine Australian with a heart of gold.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to OZ for making my weekend and Australian Day truly memorable. Meeting such a remarkable individual, along with his circle of friends and staff, has left an indelible mark on my experience at Paradise Cafe Lower Portman.

When the sun’s out, sit yourself on the deck and watch boats whiz by and then pull up to chill out for the afternoon. Perfect place to stop for a feed and drink after a fun day out on the water. Friendly staff and locals make this place relaxing. Menu will have something for everyone as will the selection of cold beers on tap or wine menu. Accessible but both boat and car.

Awesome atmosphere and scenery for a meal, drinks, and catch-up. Service was lovely, and we mostly interacted with a friendly lady there. Was also free live music singing originals tunes. The food was nice but a little slow service when they got busy, but not an issue if you're planning to stay a while and grab some drinks. Has on-site parking if you do drive. Lots of views of water skiers and boats. Very nice vibe and curious about what the place is like at sunset.

When they are busy, they may run a pizza only menu to help speed up service, so have a look at the menu in case if you have any dietary requirements 🍕

friendly and delicious food I would like to recommend a restaurant. My family was satisfied and the atmosphere was quiet and calm. Lunch was very satisfying. But if you visit this place with a car, be careful of the roads.

It was really paradise there! Beautiful setting with great food, beer and company :) nice place to get on the moto and ride to for a beer and a feed!! Lovely happy staff!!

We do rides to Paradise a few times a year, there is about 20 of us.

Great little place! Accessible from river or road (easy to miss driving past). Pretty large with loads of outdoor tables, plenty inside too, live music space, a film playing for kids, etc.
Pizzas are the main thing but there are lots of other menu options, and various soft and alcoholic drinks. Our pizza was delicious and the spring rolls were good. Definitely a real and relaxed vibe. Expect dogs and children to be around in the day. They are strict about no swimwear though (lots of signs).

A great place for a beer and pizza. A hidden gem. A nice spot for a Sunday drive with a waterfont view.... better yet, arrive by boat!

A must do especially if you are on the water for the day. Pull your boat up out the front and relax with great food, stunning view and you can warm yourself by the fire pit. Highly recommend

We had a group of 12 for Mothers Day/Birthday lunch. It was clearly busy with a lot of large groups. The meals were delicious and good value. The staff were so obliging and couldn’t do enough for us even though they were so busy. 100% recommend this hidden gem.

Great atmosphere and good, friendly staff make this a good place to pit stop. Either by road, water (or air suppose if you have a small seaplane available?).

Excellent place by the river to chill and relax

Having been turned away from Cliftonville Lodge to buy takeaway lunch because we had our dog with us in the boat, the friendly staff at Paradise Cafe could not have been more accomodating and friendly. Thank you.

A lovely location matched by the friendly service, and excellent food. Our accomodation was comfortable and clean. I’d visit again without hesitation.

Arrived by boat - and the “parking” was a bit crowded- but we managed to get ashore- despite it was very busy ( x-mas holiday) we were met by a Very friendly and welcoming service The food was excellent- will definitely come again

Drive or park your boat out the front. Pizza and all the usual favourites.

Loved the Cafe, plenty of places to sit and loved the ambience. Food was excellent and not expensive. Staff friendly and helpful . Highly recommended.
