This is a hidden gem. Not listed on wiki camps. $35 for power/water, amenities are way better than most caravan parks, basic shelter (camp kitchen).
Quite at night, no normal caravan park noise or annoying security lights in your window.
10/10…
Waratah is a must in a Tassie trip.

A great place to leave caravan why you explore the area. Have power an water site's on a sealed area or on grass. A nice look out across the lake. Easy walk around the town

The caravan park is behind the post office - which is also who you go to book.
They don’t take reservations but the check out time is also “11:00am or whenever you feel like it really” Its next to a little lake which has a platypus viewing area and
is a short walk to the gorge and waterfalls. The amenities, showers, toilets, laundry and camp kitchen were basic but in good nick and a steal for the price, I think this was the cheapest place we stayed. Cute tiny town, the meal at the pub was good but call ahead to book in if u want a feed!

Great little camp site. Good clean shower and toilet facilities at no extra charge. Nice kitchen hut with BBQ and running hot water. Lovely little lake for a paddle. Good spot for families. Lush green grass in tent areas and powered sites available also.

Lovely campsite with powered and unpowered sites. Shower facilities available- just need to ask for keypad code for a few extra dollars.

Public toilets are available nearby. Would definitely recommend coming to stay here!

Well equipped campsite with powered and unpowered places. Reception opens until 5 PM, but you can still pay and get a key from the toilets at the Petrol station until 6 PM. Clean showers and laundry for free 👍

Only 50 minutes from Cradle Mountain. Powered campsite costs $28 per van per night. Hot shower and laundry available. Hot food at the Roadhouse shop nearby. Quiet, safe and cost effective. Highly recommended.

Fantastic if all you need is an unpowered tent site, without using the showers only 6 $. Can still use the public toilets and have access to the public barbecue area. Not very flat for putting up a tent but some trees for protection from the wind. I was happy there.

Love it. The lady at the Post Office was friendly & efficient. The locked amenities are great and the general public ones were clean. Central in town and can walk everywhere, weather permitting. Great place to base yourself for Cradle Mountain.

Very nice showers and bathroom cubicles. Undercover area for cooking. Limited flat ground for camping (hopefully you don't mind a bit of a slope) haha. Very nice area and surrounds. Nice staff.

Little park. Only $6 with no hook up. Toilets are close. Near a lake and the Waratah waterfall are a short walk away. Power and showers if wanted. Pay at the council chambers or if shut pay at the service station. Very friendly people.

$6 a night for a clean and quite place to stay with access to the toilets. More $ if you need a shower and do some laundry. Great view to wake up to.

A serene park like place with a serie of ponds with platypus in them. The kids also loved the nearby playground. Nice and clean facilities (toilets, showers and laundry). Stayed with a motorhome on a powered site.

Waratah is a great base for exploring this historic area and surrounds. The Waratah Wynyard Council is making it easy for tourists to visit and support this wonderful town. The campsite caters for all budgets from unpowered sites to powered and watered sites. Unpowered sites also have the option to be fully self contained or paying for use of the amenities along with use of a no charge washing machine. Plenty to do in the area and the locals are very friendly. The council staff a credit to the community.
