Tranquil Riverside Retreat: A Perfect Getaway

My recent stay at the cottage by the river was nothing short of enchanting. Nestled amidst a lush green canopy, with the soothing sound of the river flowing gently, it offered a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

The highlight of the stay was undoubtedly the breathtaking view from the bedroom window, overlooking the tranquil river and the dense foliage of the surrounding trees. Waking up to such a picturesque scene each morning was a delight for the soul.

The cottage itself was immaculately presented and exuded a cozy charm. The spacious room provided ample comfort, with every detail meticulously attended to. The cleanliness was impeccable, making it easy to settle in and feel at home.

The host was warm and welcoming, going above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. Their friendly demeanor added an extra layer of hospitality, making the experience truly memorable.

Located in close proximity to the national park, the cottage offered easy access to nature trails and scenic spots. Whether exploring the wilderness or simply unwinding amidst the serene surroundings, there was no shortage of activities to indulge in.

Overall, my time at the cottage was nothing short of rejuvenating. I wholeheartedly recommend this hidden gem to anyone seeking a peaceful retreat in nature. It's the perfect destination to unwind, recharge, and reconnect with the beauty of the great outdoors.

This place was a fantastic find. My family and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Narelle was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and warm, it had everything we needed. Enough space if you're planning a longer stay. A great location, close enough to be a short drive away but without the hustle and bustle.

Our heartfelt gratitude to Narelle and Steve for their incredible hospitality. The Garden View Cabin was a haven of comfort and relaxation, with its well-equipped kitchen, cozy living area, and comfortable bed. We felt right at home and couldn't have asked for a better stay.

Our hosts, Norelle and Steve, were so gracious! They are very caring accommodation managers. Two of us cyclist started our 2-week journey after a ride from Wangaratta and stayed over on 18 -19 Apr 2024.

We highly recommend Alpine Park Riverside Cottages! It's set in such a cosy tranquil atmosphere with ponds, a rippling brook, a lovely pergola. It was so nice making our breakfast on the wooden park bench while watching the carps swim around the pond.

We had a great stay there!

Pros:
- Good location: Close to river, Mount Buffalo, and Bright.
- The lady who owns the place is very nice and helpful.
- Beautiful view and very good amenities.

Cons:
- For those sensitive to noise, it might have a “little bit” of road noise.
- If I want to be extra fussy, I can argue that the couch could have been cleaner, but the place was clean overall.

Summary:
Staying there was a positive experience for us and we will definitely go back.
I strongly suggest it to others.

This is one of the best places to stay while visiting the mount buffalo national park. Located in Porepunkah, its just 10-45 mins drive to many attractions. The Owens river flows through it’s backyard. The hospitality was out of this world, i felt like home. I’ll definitely visit this place again.

Cannot fault this place. It is amazing. Narelle is so lovely and made us feel so welcome.Awesome kids playground, pool table, ping pong table and other games. The Ovens river runs through the property and there are chairs you can sit and enjoy. We could spend our whole time here. The cabins are spotlessly clean and contain absolutely everything you need. Wifi works well so we could watch Netflix ect. The best thing was everyone was so relaxed. There wasn’t signs everywhere with rules, it is a place where you can actually relax and enjoy. We didn't want to leave but we will be back.

We stayed here for four days 10-14 May 2023 to experience the well-known autumn colours in Bright-Porepunkah.
There are quite a few cotages on the property, ours was a 2BR.
The property is well maintained without encroaching too much on the natural beauty - just the right blend of comfort and the Victorian Alpine feel.
The owners - Narelle and Steve are extremely helpful. When we wanted to go for a walk on the train trail from Porepunkah and Bright, she kindly offered to walk with us to the start of the Trail as we were new to the area.
Services like WiFi in the cottages has been recently upgraded and is more than satisfactory, the TV is connected and Netflix etc can be viewed. When we ran into a WiFi issue and we left a message on the indicated contact number, they replied even though it was a Saturday later afternoon, Steve came to the cottage in an hours time and resolved the issue.
Drives to Mount Buffalo and Mount Beaty are well within reach.
Highly recommended!

Loved our stay. Narelle is super helpful, very accomodating. She welcomes us so warmly. The room was very spacious- seperate living area and seperate bedroom with river view. Our puppy, Cosmo loved his stay and played with owners friendly puppy - Pip.
The beds were so cosy, room was cleaned, well equipped appliances.

Close to woolsworth and cafes. Would definitely book again for our next visit. Thank you again.

Amazing communication from the owner Narelle! Made check-in and check out so easy. A lovely little spot with the creek right outside the window, everything you'd need in the cottage with plenty of space to move around. Had a fantastic stay, highly recommend if you need a nice, simple spot to stay when you're in the area.

Thank you so much to Steve and Narelle for being wonderful hosts. Our stay was peaceful and serene. The cottage we stayed in was clean, homely and comfortable. Even though the weather was cold and rainy, we were warm inside and we loved our walks through the nearby pine forest. Overall a relaxing and enjoyable time was had.

The cottage was cosy and so clean. They provide all the little things that make a difference- salt and pepper, two hand towels and a face washer, sharp knives, hooks for towels, plenty of blankets and pillows, all manner of crockery and cutlery- just very thoughtful and practical. I loved it! Not to mention the river on your doorstep and the tail trail access just across the road.
And like I said very clean.
Thanks for having us, we can’t wait to come back!

Steve and Narelle have been the most accommodating and very friendly hosts here. I would highly recommend this place very clean and well-maintained, great location within 5 minutes drive to Bright. You have the river running in your backyard basically and is a great addition to the serenity of the place. These guys will make sure you have a great stay and I couldn't highly recommend them more and this place as they made our stay more than comfortable and more than accommodating. You are nestled in in the beautiful surroundings of the Ovens region with a great view of Mount Buffalo nestled in the quiet town of Porepunka. Keep up the great work guys look forward to seeing you next time

The staff here were beyond accommodating and friendly. We had a great stay with our little pup and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. We had a beautiful view of the river in the river front cottage. The cottage was cosy and comfortable. We will definitely be back here again.

The owners bent over backwards to help us (11of us) out after the hotel we had booked decided that children were an OH&S violation. Really pretty place right on the river with lots of wildlife. Lovely big rooms fully self contained with a real stove and a full size fridge and washing machine. We all loved it (especially the kids!!) and will definitely be back.
