Such a great art deco cinema, popular for hosting premieres and always super hospitable.

I’ve seen many a great movie there, and Mande many memories.

Old school cinema with charm!

Admire it for its old-world charm and unique character. If you’re seeking the latest cinematic technology, this is not the place for you. By all means the visuals and audio are not bad, but they’re not great either. Screens are pretty big but 3D quality is not so sharp and can get quite dark. The audio has always felt on the low side, there’s no Dolby Atmos just standard surround sound. The seats however are very comfy although they’re not recliners.

The best part about Rivoli is it’s ability to transport you to another era, it’s truly magical to experience what it would’ve been like to go to the movies in the past. The decor and architecture is tasteful and decadent. Staff are always friendly too. I’ll always keep visiting just because there’s no place quite like Rivoli!

When we arrived at the Rivoli Gold Class in Camberwell, we were greeted by 2 friendly staff members. When we presented our food voucher, although it had expired, a staff member named Pierre offered to check if the voucher was still valid as it may have been extended due to Covid. To our surprise, the food voucher was still valid. Pierre continued to provide friendly and exceptional customer service to ensure that our experience at Rivoli Gold Class was a memorable experience. Thank you so much Pierre as these days, customer service of your standard is difficult to find.

We just love it. Nice deco, clean seats, not many loud teenagers, on a not chaotic busy street. Absolutely one of the best movie-date night place, at least for me and hubby

Well located, art deco building dating back to 1940. Fully restored, The Rivoli has a great vibe, a throwback to the bygone era of Hollywood. I saw the movie 'Oppenheimer' in the widescreen (70mm) cinema. Absolutely awesome!! The Rivoli is one of only four (4) complexes in Melbourne that features this style of cinema, the others being The Sun Theatre in Yarraville, The Astor in South Yarra and IMAX. Comfy seats, crisp picture (UHD quality) and superb audio, The Rivoli did not disappoint.

When you miss the good old grandeur art deco building and cinema at once, visit this place. It is well maintained and places like this gives Melbourne that extra oomph for being so cool by mixing contemporary with the old. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is also food being served at the gold class. The screens are larger than the most modern cinemas..

Gold class had lovely staff and better food than hoyts. Amazing looking old cinema. Worth the visit.

Rivoli has risen up to be one of my favourite cinemas. the decor is so lovely and it doesn't feel cheap. I went to a Q&A session with Emma Thompson present, which was pretty dang cool.

Great art-deco cinema but the chairs are a little tired compared to more modern cinemas.

What an amazing art-deco cinema. Absolutely stunning. We went there for Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears opening night. 99percent of the movies was sold out. Unfortunately not enough toilets for all that amount of people. Otherwise really comfy, clean and beautiful. Very stylish infact.

So much better than any other village cinemas I know. Toilets are clean, staff are helpful and friendly.

Amazing art deco interior. The screen itself is good, seats comfy and the views from the top floors are also not too bad. The staff was friendly too. There is a fenced off area for gold glass, I think it's some kind of bar, but I guess they have to get something for paying double!
